    That was because of schedule though. Utah would have an insanely hard schedule to start then the second half of the season would be very easy. I'm not sure what their schedule is now, but I think it has been soft early.

    so it was the schedule? i thought they had trouble gelling or injuries.. i think they had some injuries last 2 years, no?

    if i recall well they had a stretch of going something like 13-2 and it wasnt against easy opponents.. it was something like 2 x GSW and other tough teams

    That stretch was in the back half of the season. They may have had injuries, but the schedule was considerably easier. Two seasons in a row Utah went on crazy runs to secure standing in the Playoffs. It's one of the reasons everyone in the media was so high on them and not the Rockets whenever they met in the playoffs despite the Rockets killing them during the regular season.

    I remember all or most of the Rockets/Utah games would be before January.
