I was told he earns his fouls as opposed to Harden’s flops

Also, Luka with another insane triple-double. Has any other player in NBA history, at 20 years of age, been as productive?

Portland sucks. They just play all these undisciplined guys so many minutes. Whiteside, Melo, then along with CJ and Dame...yeah...it's pretty bad. Don't see them turning it around any time soon.

They gave away too many defense and energy guys over the past few seasons.

Yep, they lost all their depth trying to cover for the Nurkic injury and paying CJ. They miss guys like Aminu, Curry, Turner, Harkless, Leonard, and Kanter. Hood, Collins, and Nurkic being hurt doesn’t help. You got to have defensive/energy guys to cover for Dame and CJ on the defensive side and they don’t have that now.

it’ll be interesting to see what happens when Nurkic returns and if they can sneak into one of the last two spots, but they don’t have a high ceiling going forward. Last year was probably it, and that was due more to luck with the playoff draw more than anything. Problem is it’s Portland...it isn’t as if they can draw stars there...do you blow it up now and try to land a draft pick or two to build around, or do you continue to go with this current squad and be perennial 1st/2nd round outs.

First step is trading away CJ or Lillard. You can’t have both. They’re the exact same player. If you keep both then everyone else around them has to be lock down defenders and rebounders. I just don’t see that happening. They got super lucky last year and at best they’re a first round exit if they even make it this year. I don’t see Nurkic returning moving the needle much for them either.

I think they should rebuild right away.

Dame/CJ done all they can do. That duo is getting nowhere.

I mean you keep Dame, he's the face of the franchise and basically said he's never leaving, so trade CJ for what you can get. Whiteside and Melo can't play, not with that team. Maybe if those guys were on an all hustle team their weaknesses could be covered but on that team...nah, get rid of them.

But yeah, you just named all the guys they had on their team and that hurts them, Aminu, Curry, Harkless, Leonard, Kanter not good defensively but an all-hustle guy still

I don't think they get in this year. West is a lot deeper with Minny, PHX, and Kings all going to battle for those last two spots. The first 6 spots are locked, LAL, LAC, HOU, DEN, DAL, UTA...those 6 are playoff teams this season for sure. So that just leaves those last two spots and I can see one of those young teams getting in...oh and OKC too I guess but I don't think they'll get in. They usually get smashed when they play better teams. Suns and Kings for example at least play better teams close.
