CD comments that stood out about our current rookies and Vernon Maxwell:

The kid is just a dynamo. He’s so strong. He’s got a good touch.

You put a Jordan hill in here, these guys are going to make their mark in the NBA.

JT – he wouldn’t be here if they didn’t believe in him

    They keep these guys here.

JT and JH have been working out pretty much everyday.

    Compared Maxwell to JT.

Maxwell – when he was on the court he followed the game plan, he was easy to coach.

Every time they had a schedule, he’d grab the schedule and wanted to see when we played Chicago.

    He was great to coach.

JT, you’re right, he’s like a tank. He’s strong. He’s got a great touch, working with his shot everyday. I think he’s got a good future in front of him, I don’t see how any guard can guard him. He’s going to be a Paul Pierce type.

There were a lot of things that stood out in that interview to me (CD haters beware my wrath :).

    1) If Jordan Hill reminds him of Maxwell, then you don't trade him unless Lebron wants to come down here and torture us (tinman will explain). All Hill has ever said/done is he wants to be a pro and just give everything to it (very un-Maxwellian).

    2) If CD can't understand how a guard can defend against JT's strength, we're not going to take on another wingman no matter who we draft.

    3) CD is rightfully in the loop with the Rockets as one of the top 3 big-man coaches in history. Rightfully so.

    Jordan Hill, Mad Max, seriously?

Maxwell wasn't a distraction on the court like Rodman. He was loved by his teammates. Off court, he had problems. but we ALL have problems off court. that's life.

I thought he was talking about Jermaine Taylor. JT?

Maxwell didn't really have any on court meltdown til 94-95 season.
    He was always playing hard.

    Problems? Yeah sure.

Criminal behavior that lands most people in jail? Don't think so.

On the court? Lots of respect for Mad Max. Off the court? Sorry excuse for a human being.

    that's what I thought too.

If so, keep JT! Maxwell was a hero!

This only confirms that he was 'hated' by the organization.

Jake Shuttlesworth: Number one, why you gotta use this kinda language? What you some kinda heathen now? You don't make no mistakes? You be out here shootin', but you don't miss no shots ever? EVER? People make mistakes! People veer off the path! God forgives them!
