Seriously, it's pretty bad. Has anyone else checked it out yet? It's just so sterile; so newspaperish. The old look had class. It was distinct. This new design feels like one of the million other lame basketball sites that try to be professional but just end up being boring (ie: anything by rivals). I can't find the live box scores anymore. The Virtual GM game is buried beneath a series of hard to find links. The color scheme is too white. The font is too small and plain. The blue sidebar isn't as intuitive as the top bar they used to have. Maybe it will grow on me, but right now I think it sucks. Anyone else agree? ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
It's not that bad, but I do prefer the old look. ------------------ The whole world we travel with our thoughts, Finding nowhere anyone as precious as one's own self. Since each and every person is so precious to themselves Let the self-respecting harm no other being. -from the Samyutta Nikaya
Have you tried to find the games for that day? Geez, its like looking for a needle in a merry-go-round ------------------ When we tire of well-worn ways, we seek for new. This restless craving in the souls of men spurs them to climb, and to seek the mountain view. -- Ella Wheeler Wilcox
I like the look of the new team sites, but the navigation on NBA.com is horrible. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
It seems to load slower too, especially the live stats. Another strike against the new look. ------------------ My dream job is to be a Houston Rockets towel boy.
IT SUCKS! I liked the old one way better. And yeah, it does load slower. ------------------ Charles Barkley on TBS on the "fat track" poll: "What? 47% said I'd gain more.....why those.....they better be glad this is a family show."
The old design was much better, but the team pages are great. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
Bob, we were in chat saying the same dang thing. I gave up trying to find the scores until somebody in the chat finally pointed me to where it was. To top it off that new Java applet scoreboard they have is hideous. Disgusting site. Like I said in chat, they must've lost a bet or something. ------------------ "No Brain Grant, no trade." -- Typos are a b**** as ZRB is holding Rocket trades hostage while he seeks a brain. Team Pages are pretty good. But everything is really plain and ugly looking. Old design was much better. I dont like this at all. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Hey Guys, If you want accurate up-to-the-minute live stats then you need to visit http://www.sports.yahoo.com Go to the NBA Scoreboard from the front page and there is very fast loading. Just a tip. ------------------ [This message has been edited by countingcrow (edited February 04, 2001).]
Guess whose stats NBA.com uses? YAHOO's! Yuck. I liked the old Java Applet they used and that ESPN still uses. Everything was laid out well and the fonts were perfect to view. This new applet looks like some kind of romper room toy with its goofy fonts. ------------------ "No Brain Grant, no trade." -- Typos are a b**** as ZRB is holding Rocket trades hostage while he seeks a brain. Why did they change the look on nba.com? I also prefer the old www.nba.com. The old one looked so much better. The colors on this new nba.com are not even half as good as the old one. It is also very hard to find stuff on this new nba.com I want the old nba.com back. I hope they well bring back the old nba.com. ------------------
On the new nba.com, I can't find the Rockets team theater. Does anyone here know where it is? ------------------
Yeah Web site changes always take a while to adjust to . ------------------ Moe's Classic Signatures "Will Work for Clutch 101 Book"
The new site actually seems to load faster for me. ------------------ The whole world we travel with our thoughts, Finding nowhere anyone as precious as one's own self. Since each and every person is so precious to themselves Let the self-respecting harm no other being. -from the Samyutta Nikaya
I actually like the Yahoo running box scores better than the ones at nba.com. At Yahoo, not only do you get who got the basket, rebound, etc., but you get information like where a player makes/misses from and how far, etc. Like instead of just seeing the words "Webber miss", you get 9:02 SAC - C. Webber misses a 16-foot jumper from the top of the key. It also gives you assists when they happen, and also the minutes seem to be more accurate. I may start using Yahoo now. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. DOD, Where do you find today's live scores? I still can't find it! ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. TheCat, When the page finishes loading, you'll see a graphic near the top left that says "Center Court Live". Click on that. ------------------ "No Brain Grant, no trade." -- Typos are a b**** as ZRB is holding Rocket trades hostage while he seeks a brain. I don't like it all that much, but I didn't like the old one either. I don't ever visit their site. Who wants to read the Pravda of the NBA anyway? ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan
