Jeez...can't you post something productive like how Bonzi is fat or Rafer can't shoot, or JVG hates rookies... C'mon, let's elevate the dialog on this board people...
Randy Livingston during his time was the most highly recruited high school basketball player in the history of basketball. Seriously. The last time the Rockets were associated with a defensive player of the year? Emanuel "E-Mail" Davis. If my memory serves me...
my favorite lower tier rocket has to be Charles "mug the opposing team" Jones! The man had no business on the court but by the grace of god managed to be as productive as anyone could have hoped.
Why is that? Are you going to stop us? All we will hear after a playoff lose is the same thing we will hear after a regular season lose only worse!
I wish he was the backup PG on the Rockets ! We have 2 spots on the team that are worthless, Sura and Wells...... The team should be looking at getting someone for the future..that might work out. DD
More importantly, I think this demonstrates what can be accomplished when someone has some ability, a great desire, and a solid work ethic. He didn't give up, even with injuries and other setbacks over the years. Too bad one of the Rockets' players signed as a free agent over the summer didn't have a similar desire or work ethic.
Loved Livinston, but why the hell were they playing him 40 minutes a game? Isn't this a development league? Sounds like Bill Musselman's time in the CBA.
I actually remember Jones putting in some quality minutes back during the second championship run. He was indeed a foul-machine but he was also a pretty wily veteran that made some nice plays against Shaq.
Allen Laevel (sp i know it was wierd), Anyone remember that shot he hit from like 91 feet away? I think it was him. I met him in the Men's Warehouse up on 1960 when I was like 10. Sleepy Flloyd - another legend in his own right. Mike
