well, I may have paraphrased a bit with the title. ;) Still . . . he does write, "Who’s going to stop them? The Celtics, Rockets, Raptors, Spurs, Wizards, Clippers or Jazz? Please."

We could be looking at Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers in The Finals for a while
With young and talented cores, it could be tough for any other team to break up this two-team championship dance

Nearly a full year after Kyrie Irving nailed the step-back shot over Stephen Curry and LeBron James leapt, then wept at the accomplishment of ending Cleveland’s championship drought, we’re back where we started. In fact, right back where the entire basketball world expected to be when the 2016-17 season tipped off on Oct. 25.

Cavaliers-Warriors III. The one that settles it all.

    Uh, until next year?

In a boxing context, this would be the Thrilla in Manila, where Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier pummeled each other to the brink and Ali would later say it was the closest thing he’d ever felt to dying. The end of the trilogy.

But no matter how many haymaker 3s Curry and Kevin Durant can bury for Golden State or the dozens of body blows that are landed by James and Irving for Cleveland, who’s going to say we can’t write it onto the calendar for June 2018 -- Cavaliers-Warriors IV. Then V, VI and VII.

Who’s going to stop them? The Celtics, Rockets, Raptors, Spurs, Wizards, Clippers or Jazz? Please.

The Warriors just floated through the Western Conference like a kite on a breeze to a perfect 12-0 record. The Cavaliers had that inexplicable Game 3 hiccup against Boston and were still 12-1 in the Eastern Conference.

In a plumbing context, the pipes are clogged.

Who cares? It is pointless to predict the landscape years from now.

Warriors could be ruined by a major injury, or a player deciding to go their own way, same for the Cavs.

People always say "They will dominate forever!" then they don't. Players also get old. Some players hit that age decline sharply and some don't. Lebron could look washed up a year from now, Klay Thompson may get tired playing as some other guy, Durant could find his next chapter if the Cavs beat the Warriors in 5 or something.

Exactly. It's not even worth or fair watching these nba fixed refs give favorable calls to these 2 superteams.

    Dude is right.

Everyone that has a brain knows the Cavs and Dubs will be in the finals for the next 2-3 years, if not more.

Blinesbury's right. **** the nba. Outcomes are determined based on perception before the game even starts. You don't see any of the randomness you find inthe NFL or MLB, that's the tipoff that games are rigged the same way they are in the WWF. That's why game of zones is so accurate. The rockets have no chance in the foreseeable future. We're the Iron Sheik to the CAvs' Hulk hogan and the warriors' Ric Flair. The Spurs are the Undertaker so they're the only other team alllowed to steal one now and then. Did I say **** the NBA?

one of the main reasons i didnt get so mad at harden for having a garbage game 6. No way the nba would allow us to be beat the warriors( its not in the script). it wasnt in the script for us to beat okc

you all remmeber the last time we were in the western confernce finals, and golden states moving screens, and the horrible officiating cost us both game 1 and 2 in oracle. The league send their goons to control the pace of the game

This is so true. Things will happen that no one predicted, especially if you're looking a few years out. That's one thing you can predict.

I don't care about the Warriors or the Cavs. We can't beat the injury depleted Spurs.

Unless we can somehow land Anthony Davis with James still on our team, add one more superstar and still have te ability to obtain some quality role players... it is not happening! Damn you Charlie Thomas for selling the Rockets to Les Alexander!

Well, it's accurate. The Rockets playing at their best can beat both of those teams, but who can predict what sort of Rockets team will take the floor on any given night? Nobody can. The team is marred by inconsistency and inflexibility; it doesn't need an NBA narrative to put itself out of the running.

If you're looking for a Houston championship, look a few blocks away at Minute Maid Park. Those young guys are playing the most phenomenal and consistent baseball the city's ever seen. They fight every inning, every night. Maybe going to Astros games should be mandatory research for the Rockets this off season.
