yea to me it should of been over after that 1 handed 720 off the side of the back board by gordon. like that should of ended the show
2016: Gordon had, arguably, the best dunk in a dunk contest of all time. Didn't win the thing. 2020: Gordon had 5 straight 50-point dunks. Didn't win the thing. You can like Jones Jr. all you want, but Gordon was flat out robbed. Both years.
Well this is even stupider than I thought Judges were actually trying to give Gordon a 48 and force a tie, but somehow ****ed up the math (Pippen?) and gave him 47 https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...edges-aaron-gordon-controversial-dunk-contest "We thought it was going to be tied. We were like, 'This is a tie!'" one judge, hip-hop artist Common, told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "But somebody didn't do it right. I don't know who it is." Los Angeles Sparks star Candace Parker, another judge on the panel, confirmed that they had intended for the second dunk-off to result in a tie.
Enjoyed these. Spoiler: Derrick Jones Jr - Windmill glide dunk. Spoiler: Derrick Jones Jr - Reverse Tornado through the Legs Spoiler: Pat Connaughton - Backboard tap dunk Spoiler: Aaron Gordon - Side of backboard one hand windmill Spoiler: Air Gordo & 7'5 Tacko
Nice work detective. Further investigation shows she’s married to the guy sitting down to her right. She was born in Chicago hence why she stood up for Quitten.
Bullshit!!!! Robbery, AG should've won based on all 50s already and then dunking over Taco Fall??!!! Are you kidding me....Derrick Jones did all left handed between the legs. Come on man....the judges just made that all about themselves right there.
Wait whut?!?!?!! GTFO, I bet it was Wade, he wanted his boy on Miami to win. Should've never been a judge. Aaron Gordon should've been way more pissed off about this and the rule should've been in a tie that the best score over the 4/5 dunks wins and that was AG. Also, while I'm not for Lifetime achievement awards, Jones is going to have another shot at it and they should've just given him a 50 since he had the best dunk of the night and deserved it over all his dunks as well as for 2016. Everyone would've loved it. Lastly, it's a freaking contest, just change the rules on the spot and say tie or best over all dunks. Nobody would've cared about the rules...I'm sure Jones would've gladly given it to AG given the dunks that night. If not, then that would've been petty.
Not sure his 2016 dunk is even arguable. What other dunk even comes close to that? It’s the dunk you will always remember like did he really just do that?
Didn’t watch last night. But I’m tired of the “we were trying to force a tie” shennanagins every year.
The easiest way to solve the dunk contest is to not go to endless extra dunks, and tie breakers, but to decide which dunk they think was the best dunk of the night. Easy. Aaron Gordon probably has three of the top 5 dunks I've ever seen in my life in the dunk contest, and he hasn't won it. Hell Pat Connaughton dunk, in terms of difficulty, was probably the hardest dunk of the night. Derrick Jones jr. Should not have won that contest.
