    KEVIN GARNETT

    vs.

    VINCE CARTER

Obviously since it's just one matchup, we don't need to copy the brackets again like we've been doing. Just write in the name of who you think wins, and provide some analysis if you want. Remember, this is the championship!

IMO it's a great matchup, but I'll go with Garnett. Carter is very explosive offensively, and is quicker than about anyone in the league. He has great athletism, and also a great touch from the perimeter. But Garnett also has good speed, and with his size and long arms he should be able to defend Carter about as well as anyone in the league. And on the other side of the ball, Vince is not a great defender, and I don't think he could stop KG from getting inside. Close game, but my championship vote goes to Garnett.

I think this is a very good championship match. I'm glad to see Francis finally get knocked out! Too much team loyalty here!

Both players are evenly matched. However, I have to go with Vince because he seems to be more explosive than Garnett.

    KG, because he plays defense.

KG, he is superior to Carter in almost every area.
And although i, too think francis shouldn't have gone as far as he did, I don't agree that he would have lost to Carter. Everyone thinks WAY too much of VC.

Nice matchup, but Kevin Garnett would win this without too much trouble.

Garnett. Carter won't be able to shoot over, get around him, or guard him.

A little anecdote about Garnett's defense: Right after Garry St. Jean took over as the Warriors coach, Antawn Jamison went on a scoring tear -- over a 10-game stretch, he put up at least 20 points in each game, averaging 23.1 ppg on 52% shooting. In the ninth and tenth games (both wins), he scored 32 and 37 points, respectively.

Game number eleven was at home, after an off day, against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jamison scored 7 points on 3-of-15 shooting, as Garnett snuffed him out like a candle.

KG, aka "Da Kidd", for all the above reasons.

I'd go with Vince Carter since he seems more adept at 3's(2's) in this matchup...he'd win 10-8 by one's with a nifty scoop shot.

I was hoping for a few more votes, but obviously they aren't coming so I'll go ahead and stop it. Kevin Garnett is the 1 on 1 champion. Thanks to everyone who voted.
