Rubiks Cube- I never did complete the puzzle, but I remember watching "That's incredible" and seeing some guy do the cube in like 5 seconds. UnFreaking believable.

Tails - Never had one, but saw a ton of them dangling off the back of my friends spiked hair.

Thick Neon Shoelaces - I guess this was right about the time the rappers became the in thing. RUN DMC and such. They were very popular in my neighborhood. I think they came right after the velcro shoe frenzy.

When I was young we used to buy several pairs of Converse Chuck Taylors in different colors then we'd wear one color on one foot and a different color on the other.

    Parachute pants; checkered Vans (the shoes, that is); rolling up your jeans (making them "cuffed");

The Jeffs must be thinking on the same wavelength this morning. You just beat me to the "Submit Now" button.

those skinny little ties. (see any Rick Springfield vid)

what were those things that chicks wore on their legs? The girl in Flashdance made them popular...

Not sure this is really a fad but, does anyone remember Intellivision? I know the old Atari has become sorta sheek lately but I had Intellivision...I seem to remember it being pretty cool...

Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures.

Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!

Man, PSJ just starts the best threads...

    Breakdancing

Anyone remember that 'slime' stuff that you would throw and stick to walls (or lockers?)?

I also noticed that nobody tucked in their shirts until I entered high school, not sure if that counts as a fad...

Kaepa tennies with two sets of laces...why would anyone want to tie their shoes twice?

Anybody remember muscle shirts? Anybody remember how only guys that were really overweight or had no muscles ever wore 'em? [IMG]

Umm... how about all the girls during the 80's dressing like sluts? You know... outfits all had to have fishnet somewhere on them or lace... with about 80 bangles on your arm and 4 pounds of Punk makeup? (Thanks Madonna!)

Guys that looked like girls (not that there's anything wrong with that). But it seemed popular back in the day. Thanks Boy George and Flock of Seagulls. hehe.

Friendship bracelets... those stupid strings of yarn wrapped around your wrist. As if anybody knew who your friend was.

I'll give you credit if you ever played "Strings"... and no, not in the band.

How about playing pencil break? Man were we stupid children or what?

Along similar lines... how about playing thumps? I think I now have arthritis. Haha!

Rubik's Cube had its offshoots like... Pyramid... or Snake... bizarre.

How about the Don Johnson look guys? Come on... nasty 2-3 day stubble on your face, with a neon shirt, covered by a white jacket with the sleeves pulled up. Oh yeah, baby.

    Beat boxing (go Fat Boys!)

George Michael and Boy George left many a young man... well... a young woman. *shrug*

Anybody with me on Michael Jackson jackets?! Man, then the fights would start about "Man, that ain't real... you got that from Weiner's... it's vinyl... Pookie's got the only real one in the entire school... his is leather".

Jheri Curl Juice. That stuff oughta be used as motor oil substitute.

High top fades. Dudes walkin' around lookin' like they had giant cylinders balanced on their heads. Thank you Kid 'N Play.

Somebody already said "break dancing"... moonwalk, centipede, windmill, and 15 years later... a bad back.

How about Hammer pants that made you look like you had elephantine nuts? Thank you MC Hammer!

How about the gangsta look when you wore about 40 gold (?) chains. And one of them always had be the size of a damn logging chain; you could use it to tow a car. You left mom's house lookin' cute, but turned into a ghetto pimp daddy as soon as you donned the chains.

The fad now where you wear pants baggy enough to hide 2 midgets and a WNBA player inside them. And they're so long, they basically end up sweeping the floor when they walk. Can I rent one of you guys 'cause I hate sweepin'.

How about stealing Mercedes emblems of Benz's and wearing them around your neck? Truly sad.

I still laugh when I see people paying that much money for Tommy Hilfiger clothes. *snicker*

    Superman Underoos.

    Garbage Pail Kids trading cards.

How about taking pure sodium or potassium and dropping it into water-bearing vessels such as oooooh... toilets and then running before the violent reaction between the volatile substance and water took place? Oh wait... that was just me. Nevermind.

Oh hell... I just found the following link... entertain yourselves:
