My view of how the Pacers were cheated of the NBC title

    Back once more for another fresh session of NBA history. The fall out is over and the result is another tainted champion in the NBA. We have all seen for years the Bulls given the title on David Stern's silver platter, This year we observed the Lakers given the distinctive title of NBC champion. As sports evolve we see more and more tainted championships and titles take Evander Holyfield as an example and the Lakers are right there with him.
    The Pacers proved they were the better team in the 2000 finals but preferred treatment from the refs just kept them one step behind in every game. Just think about what the outcome of the series would have been if O Neal and Bryant were not given all the close and unfair calls. If the series was fairly called the pacers would have won in 5 or 6 but as we know sports has turned into entertainment and basketball is no better than wwf wrestling.

    How did the Rockets defeat the New York Knicks? I mean isn't the NBA headquarters in NY. John Starks blew the series for the Knicks, not the Refs.

    While I agree the Lakers got a few calls, they weren't all that many and the Lakers proved to be the better team. Coach, get over it.

    I hope you know you are contradicting yourself here. If you really believe that, then why are you watching the games and posting at basketball websites such as this?

    I'm not going to lie. It really hurt seeing Portland lose to LA, cause honestly I did think they were the better team. Because of how upset I was, I did exaggerate a touch as I'm sure you saw. [​IMG] I really did and still think Portland was the better team; however it's also their fault for collapsing in the 4th and giving it to the Lakers. In summary, I hate the Lakers with a passion, and it hurt to see them win a series they really shouldn't have. But no, honestly I am not the kind of fan I sounded like in those posts. It just hurt so bad at the time to see LA win that it was very hard for me to be objective.

    How do you explain your miracle shot against the "Fakers" in '86?

    Was that "fixed" by the NBA also? Were they getting tired of those Celtic/Laker matchups?

    Almu, This is or the post you put on the tiger woods thread about me not liking someone cause they wore nike's.

    I dont dislike everyone from nike, Dale Davis is favorite player from the pacers and he with Nike. I mean I wont buy or wear anything from NIke cause they have ripped people off for years and cheated kids parents out of countless dollars. So stop putting words in my mouth.

    is used because Ralph Sampson is a coach. Now
    I dont understand what your point is about the miracle shot , it has nothing to do with what I wrote. The NBA was not as bad in 86 as it has been in the 90's. And just because a team didnt get cheated 1 or 2 times does not mean that there is not foul play going on in the NBA. So if see a team like the pacers beat the KNicks this year it was bewcause they beat the KNicks and the refs unlike the year before when the Pacers could not beat te knicks and refs.

    Yo i agree totally on what Dr.Coach said like for instants remember lasts years NY vs.comets finals game 2 when Weatherspoon hit that miracle half court shot everyone saw DAVID stern move the rim a little left didnt you?/// so they could have more tv time with game 3 ???

    Just one question: Your topic is called "My view of how the Pacers were cheated of the NBC title." So what is your view, other than the notion that they were cheated? Give me some examples, specifically. To simply state that they were cheated without stating specific examples of how is, well, Jazzfanlike.     Coach Sampson no offense but thats a really ridiculous post. jordan and co. ( even quitten) deserved every one of their championships because they played like a team and had the greatest player alive in jordan, and they played good D. have u ever wondered why they had the best season record and WON the NBA championship? it's because at the end of the season no one could match their intensity.

    the lakers got a few calls here and there but the bottom line is they were the better team.

    why are you even posting this now? indiana didnt do anything marvelous to deserve to win the NBA championship. they r looking forward to the upcoming season and you are bringing back dirty laundry pretty much.

    i dont understand whats the point of your post. is there any one call that really changed a game or two games? please explain.

    TeXaSalsa, Jordan supporter huh? Sticking up for the Lakers huh? Well come right down to 3rd lane I got some sh#t for your brain.
    Look even stupid ignorant and casual fans know Jordan got all the call so that's comical to debate that fact. The fact is calls do decide games if not than why are the refs there. The Bulls won 4 or their titles because of preferred calls. You cant sit there and say the calls dont matter cause than your just fooling yourself.
    The lakers were just another example of a marketing plan by David Stern. If you sit there and say Shaq and Kobe did not get every last call your out of your mind. The pacers should not have to worry about certain players getting special calls cause they are popular they should get fair calls too. it was not just 1 or 2 calls that changed the series texaSalsa it was how the whole games were called overall. Shaq was allowed 3 to 7 seconds camping in the lane Shaq was allows to hack at will, Kobe was allowed to hack and calls were by choice not by what actually happened. In game 4 Shaq should been fouled out in the end of 3 but the refs kept him out there, Kobe got away with murder point blank the WHOLE series not 1 call it was the whole thing bro. Dont try to tell me superstars get calls cause thats just admitting that's cheatingand dont give me this nonsense refs dont decide games cause they do always have and always will!
