My theory as to why Harden is turning the ball over

Its quite simple, Harden is getting hacked whenever he drives and isnt getting the whistle. I think the refs have grown tired of calling fouls for him. But the problem when they don't call the foul is that it leads to an exposed basketball and the start of a fastbreak for the other team, which unfairly counts as a turnover. Yes their are times were Harden makes a pass to Asik( who fumbles the ball away), but for the most part he no longer has the respect of the refs. I also think with Asik having bad hands, Harden often times second guesses himself when trying to force feed Asik, because he might not catch the ball. Which may lead to bad passes.

It is also quite noticeable that Harden is struggling from fatigue and battling injuries, we have to remmeber this is the most minutes he has played in a season.. BY FAR, and i think he has dead legs( which explains the poor FG and 3P percentages). Parsons and Delfino had the luxury of rest down the stretch, and you can see it in their games, while the other Rockets did not.

For those thinking Harden is overrated, or think that he isnt clutch, you may want watch the TWolves game earlier this year, or him againist the Spurs in the WCF last year. Harden is out superstar and is only 23 years old, now do we need a better coach for him... thats for another discussion

Why the EFF does Harden beat his man off the dribble with a bunch of fancy moves then pass it to someone that has a man right in their face? WTF is wrong with him? It's got to be one of the stupidest basketball decisions in the league and he does it over and over again. It's like watching Steve Francis all over again...

a lot of his passes are just bad passes, and you can't always drive into the lane and flail your arms in the air hoping to get a foul. eventually the refs are not going to call that foul.

in hardens world he would average 20 free throws a game.

    It's quite simple:

This guy is afraid of the Thunder. They've seen his true face.

These are excuse, but I believe the real reasons:

    1) He is tired. Constant double teams, playing more minutes than last few seasons + Olympics. He'll get get better at being #1 option.

    2) He isn't yet used to being the #1 option. Again the double teams and having to make extra effort wears him down.

His FG% is down and TOs up as the year progressed meaning defenses got better at guarding him as #1 option. So he'll have to adjust, and as Parsons & Lin get better, or if we get a Dwight Howard, that will only help.
