Expected it to be sh!tty because I usually hate rap parodies, but you're doin great. Good beat and the flow isn't as bad as I expected. Nearly 2000 views on Youtube now, nice!
I went to Walgreens the other day and the cashier made me sign up for a rewards card. That was not swag.
Looks like someone has been dipping into the Schedule II supply I've always wanted to be friends with a pharmacist. Preferably one that had questionable morals.
Great advice! Got some questions though. 1) Are you talking about a stablizer plug-in or something that stablizes the camera whiie filming? I looked for some carts that would go back/pan smoothly, but couldn't find one. 2) I messed up on this one. Shot in 16x9 and then squished the picture so I can have lyrics at the bottom; probably should have just put it on the screen instead of condensing the picture. 3) Are you talking about rendering out as AVCHD? I did 1080P WMV. Is this a pretty bad idea? I didn't know it would make such a difference. 4) 24 fps? I think I did this with 30fps, thought it would be better with a lot of movement. Not true? I'm really a noob at filming/post production. I would like to get more into this and make a few more parodies...thanks for the input!
Not bad. Its nice when people put effort and work into their ideas. Good: - Everything was in sync, the lip sync & the scene cuts to the audio, nothing off rhythm (that to me is simple but important - keep things on the beat!) - Rapping wasnt as cheesy as I thought it'd be lol Comments: - Already mentioned about the squished and stretched look. Then its mostly on a couple little parts on the dancing where more head space AND leg space would be good to show off the dance steps, zoom out a little more but kinda ticky tack. - Background actors, IMO in any productions they gotta over-exaggerate their expressions a little more so it comes across on the screen more. So movements don't look "soft" or "wooden". Mostly on the the little gag bits. But this vid everyone seemed to have fun so that conveys across well.
cute video! (though what is up with those rewards cards? think they might as well do it because CVS does? so now to get any good deals we have to dig through our purse/wallet and see if we can find where we put it? )
Yep, we got this new program called balance rewards and it's a pain doing this in the pharmacy. However, corporate wants customer retention and this is what we're going with haha.
Thanks. I'm a little suprised at how many view it's gotten...probably due to all these facebook views haha. some are actually my tech's sorority friends haha.
What program do you use to edit? I use SONY VEGAS. Yes, sir. Both. Vegas Pro now has an internal stabilizer, but there are plug-ins out there. Also, a good hand-held stabilizer will do wonders without having to use plugins. Try the MERLIN... though it's a bit expensive. I bought one off Craigslist and even though I haven't used it in a big production, it's ready whenever it's needed. If you're going for the "shaky" look, don't change it if that's your style. I just mention it because it will look a bit less shaky, but it's all up to you. I have a steady hand to record, myself, but I know that sometimes it gets tiring and I use a tripod with a dolly all the time. This is how I learn some techniques, too. Good thing you realize when you know you've done something wrong. Yes, MP4 as a video of choice, which might lose some quality when you upload to YouTube. No. It's not... but I see that you were aiming for 720. WMV can hold its own, but it's not preferred. There's nothing wrong with outputting it to that. I was mentioning 24fps due to its film-like look. 30fps is good enough. There are some videos that look great when natively recorded in 24, but you are right about the movements and speed, it will not help you with slow-mo. No problem. I see you're already doing well. KEEP LEARNING! EDIT: Check your email, sir.
Haha, that's funny! I probably would've made a diss track when I was a "hardcore" rapper. Just kidding. I emailed my boss to get permission for filming, but she has to see the video first to see if there is anything in there that's against company policy. This will also be her group's theme song/video at the corporate meeting, so hopefully the marketing guys will take note and put some of it in a future commerical.
