I hope he didn't relapse and OD. I grew up on Soundgarden and Ausdioslave. F-cking LEGEND! Real sad.

Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, and now Chris Cornell. Eddie Vedder is the lone lead-singer survivor of the Big 5.

Man, and they were coming to Houston soon. Ugh, what a selfish response.

Hands-down one of the best rock singers ever. Even if you weren't into Soundgarden, you couldn't deny his power.

This was a surprise out of left field with his death. The guy still looks like he's in his 20's and even more so since he started wearing his hair long again when Soundgarden reunited. I was lucky enough to see Soundgarden a couple times and Chris on some of his solo tours and he was always great as a live performer. Please don't let it be drugs but we know the grunge bands have been cursed enough by drugs that we don't need another drug death hanging over those bands.

    What in the straight ****.

All I've been doing is listening to Audioslave and his solo work lately. Legitimately the only thing I've been listening to. Just had a convo with my cousin not even two days ago about how "like a stone" is truly one of the most deep and well thought out songs ever.

This really ****ing sucks. I'm legit pissed. Probably my favorite singer of all time. It's gonna be a long day. I really can't believe this.

Man. Really out of nowhere and just completely shitty news. Sigh.

    ****!

    Will be very much missed.

    R.I.P.

Shocked... HOF-worthy. If you listen to his voice, you would know which band it is. It is semi-related to Pearl Jam because the drummer plays in both bands. The more I live, the harsher the news. Soundgarden, Audioslave will never be erased.

Yeah, same here. I'm just a little shell shocked right now. It's not hyperbole to say that Cornell had a voice that was matched in intensity by only a handful of front men in the history of Rock. Badmotorfinger is one of my favorite albums of all time...I feel a little sick right now.

Say hello to heaven, Chris. RIP. :(

Cornell wrote this for Temple of the Dog about their friend, Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone (a band that would've been one of the grunge greats), after he passed due to a heroin od. Around the time it came out, I had a rash of friends pass away and I would listen to this song almost on a loop.

    Rest in peace.

When my parent's bought me my first CD player, my first purchase was Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger after hearing Outshined on Z Rock. Must have been between 91-92, and I was 12 years old. Still have the CD.

    RIP Chris
