Saw the trailer was out, didn't watch it, feel like they're REACHING, especially if the original Director is out (assuming he is).

Trailer looks good - I liked the first one despite some plot holes.

The thing I didn't like about Sicario is the Emily Blunt role. It appears that has been eliminated in part 2.

I'm intrigued. What a real war on drugs would look like (Hollywood style of course).

Looks good to me, i thoroughly enjoyed the first one. The family murder scene was pretty intense.

Nothing against Emily Blunt, but I completely agree with you. She held back the first movie from being what it really should have been.

Not sure if having a different directory will matter.

Benicio del Toro unchained is phenomenal.

They should have just let Taylor Sheridan (wrote Sicario) direct it too. He did a great job for his movie Wind River.

He's a rising star man. I love is movies.

The role of Emily Blunt was to set up the eventual sequel, along with the fact that she was a needed entity for Benicio and Brolins character to have access to Mexico at the time. Her role couldve been diminished into a smaller role but the movie was thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. Also, the line Del Toro says to her sets up whats to come in this movie, "You should move to a small town, somewhere the rule of law still exists. You will not survive here. You are not a wolf, and this is a land of wolves now".

    Agreed.

As Del Toro's character was the necessary evil on the war on drugs in the movie, Emily Blunt's character was the necessary evil for the actual movie. We hated her so much that it set up Del Toro's character perfectly for what happened in the first and now what's going to happen in the new movie.

Oh I agree with your assessment. I was just a little annoyed at the "naivete" her character possessed. I know it represents the moral center of the movie but felt untrue to me. Nobody in her position would be that ignorant of what it takes to take on drug cartels in Mexico.

Yeah, he's like the Cormac McCarthy of film writers.

Okay, maybe that's going a little far and a bit premature, but I've enjoyed all three of his films.

No Villanueva and Roger Deakins the cinematographer who is one of the best around. He's a big part why the first movie was so visually great.

I know, sucks. Theyre trying to maintain the same theme in the trailer and it just doesnt feel the same IMO. Im still going to watch in theaters but I think quality will definitely take a hit.
