She is the Roseanne Barr or Rosie O'Donnell of this generation. Down right classless and raunchy roles were made for her. So she will more than likely NOT fit the equal to Dan Aykroyd. *who else is fat from the original Ghostbusters?*
I was laughing with a friend of mine the other day We expect Melissa to remake all John Candy Movies and then move on to Chris Farley Rocket River
Dr. Egon Spengler = Wiig Dr. Raymond Stantz = Melissa Dr. Peter Venkman = The Blond SNL Chick Winston Zeddmore = Black Chick from SNL Melissa is the only one that is passably funny Rocket River
Ghostbusters is one of my favorites of all time, so however bad anything comes out now with the name will not change how I feel about the original one iota. And because I loved it so much I say go for it. Let's face it, the chance of an original cast sequel is gone so bring it on. And for an all female cast this is a solid roster of comediannes. And no one is making me watch any new remake, reboot etc. I typically pass on most so I'm not tired of them unlike some people here. Guess what, it's actually easy to NOT buy a ticket for a movie. While it's pretty lame to see generic stuff pumped out to cash in, they seem to be putting a good effort for something fresh here.
Instead of Melissa McCarthy, they could have gotten Aidy Bryant and gone all SNL. Sorry if someone else mentioned it - I didn't read.
WHAT?!?!!? Rocket River NOT praising the black actress?!?!!?!? THIS IS A FIRST, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!
What girls have you ever talked to that liked Ghostbusters? I'm not going to reboot Steal Magnolias with an all male cast.
i can only see melissa handling those proton packs. particle accelerators are no joke. wig has to train harder.
The girl I took to see it when it originally came out in the theaters. I think you might be confusing Ghostbusters with First Blood.
Good for you. Everytime I bring up it's awesomeness to females I get some serious eye rolls. Movie stil going to bomb though. You can only watch Melissa McCarthy take a dump in a sink so many times.
