Clearly, Trump is not very smart. Trump has a short attention span and does not read. Trump does not care what the facts are. He cares about what he can market. He can market "Germany does not pay its fair share" to loyal his followers.
But he believe it too. He is a believer of his own lies. He probably internalized being a genius at a young age. Learning after that isn’t necessary. Whatever he thinks must be true rendering him being incapable of seeing beyond his thoughts. Anything that is in conflict with his claims are destroyed by his brain. If his brain can’t do the job, he will lash out and continue to lies until it does. What’s amazing is his followers believing his bs and lies. That’s the sort of thing that happen to worshiper of cult leader.
