They may have been better off long term but they weren't a better team until this off season.

 

Yea the clippers didn’t get better. Both years they barely made the playoffs or two years ago they didn’t make it right? I can’t remember. But the Clippers were just a good team but weren’t contenders at all. We got Cp3 and we took the warriors w KD to 7 games.

 

And that trade laid the groundwork for what they have today. Blake/cp3 had run its course, they were better off moving on from them
