Looks like we're confident we can make this team better at the trade deadline and with potential buyouts.
Lmfaoooo exactly. That’s the big issue here. I also hope morey isn’t trying to be the smartest guy in the room every year now in thinking he can always find a diamond in the rough.
An S/T simply won't work. DM just doesn't get it. EG is a pretty good player, but he has had injuries and is 30. He can't get us a very good player in return. CC's trade issues and limitations despite his youth and athleticism are well known, thus a chance of a solid return here is low as well. Melo isn't likely to cut it either. Use the MLE wisely on the BPA. Sign another player with the vet minimum who can at least play defense. Cut RJ, and Markel. Secure Melton and sign Trevon plus Deng to two way contracts. Hartenstein can take Tarik's place. No one will take Anderson for now, unless it's somebody worse than him. So be careful here.
Ryan Anderson's bottom-barrel value starts to climb towards the trade deadline. I wonder if this is what he's referring to. And to everyone saying "JUST SIGN ALL THE ROLE PLAYERS", for flexibility you don't want to jam your organization full of headcount and contracts if you don't really need them. I actually agree with this approach. It's not about winning in December, it's about locking in for April. We have a good team. It's just that the gutless prissy Warriors glamor squad has fans on eternal panic mode. There's not one or two moves we can do that will get us there, so I agree with playing the long-game and not screwing the franchise for future years to overplay our hand right now.
If the Rockets are worried about getting bargains after giving Chris Paul $40M a year, then this offseason truly is hilarious.
This has always been his approach, and it usually works out well. Anderson is the exception, not the rule. The Suns and Clips just overpaid for guys who performed better than their contracts for us. Those two, plus Gordon, Beverley, Nene, have all been good gets for the money in the last few years. You can't pay multiple stars what they are worth and still overpay for role players. You need to develop role players: draft picks, overseas signings, minimum deals, etc. The Spurs have been masters at that over the years, and that is a big reason for their success. Then they go and sign Pau Gasol to an overpriecd deal, and now they suck.
wasn't one of james harden's points about how this team was only together for a year and that with more time itll help the team. This isn't exactly reinforcing that, losing two of your best wing defenders and then adding multiple players expected to be rotation guys who can contribute at possibly not until a few months left in the season. for a championship team, all this uncertainty this offseason for what is supposed to be a great organization is surprising
Morey is the one who was talking about having the pick of free agents and new math, now he’s in damage control mode Morey the type to invite u to a party saying there’s gonna be drinks, live music, and some dime pieces everywhere, but the party ends up being wack
Morey is working hard to get Melo to be here. The rockets may get Chris Bosh if Capela wants to have more money. Look, they pay $44M per year to CP3, which is more Lebron, we do not have enough money to pay others.
lol...no girls, the DJ didn’t show up, and Morey serving up Root Beer asking who wants to play a card game...
Seems like a shot in the dark to me. He has time and hopefully has a starting SF on the table. We need that more than a Anderson replacement. I’ve Unfortunately acccepted the fact Anderson may be a rocket next year regardless.
Upcoming season feels like a lost season sitting here on 7/10/2018. We got significantly worse this off season.
So he won't bring back Capela. And will give us another Jordan Hamilton at the trade deadline and tell us to be satisfied.
