I say what the f*ck. Sign Rashard Lewis to our middle exception and give him a wink-wink sign big later agreement we also gave Shandon. Rashard would start over The Wiz, who is better in short stints off of the bench. We would need to sign Rashard before the draft, just so it is really clear who we need to go after in the draft.

BTW, Rashard whould forgive and forget just to get starter's minutes in his home town and to get to play with The Franchise.

This is from the Sporting News.
i agree w/ it. except i think we should keep walt as instant offense off the bench.

"But against the Sonics, the Rockets might have gotten a good look at somebody who might be another piece of the puzzle-in-progress _ Rashard Lewis.

The 6-10 native Houstonian will be a free agent at the end of the season, and he showed the Rockets plenty Friday night, scoring 22 points and picking off 10 rebounds. Lewis mixed things up effectively, too, going inside for put backs and drilling key 3-pointers as well.

With the Rockets building for the future, a player like Lewis would seem to make sense. At 6-10, he has the kind of versatility that Rudy Tomjanovich loves. He can go inside to post up smaller threes, and he can step outside and knock down the perimeter shot if the defense tries to check him with a power forward. And his off-the-dribble game has improved to the point where he can get his own shot when he wants it.

And his age, 20, fits in well with the Rockets' future plans. He would be an excellent complement to guys like Francis, Mobley and Anderson, all of whom like the wide-open, fullcourt game.

Another factor is that Lewis has been saying that when he hits free agency, money won't be as big a motivating factor as will minutes. Lewis wants a chance to break into the starting lineup, and with Ruben Patterson apparently entrenched at the three spot in Seattle, Lewis may have to look elsewhere -- like Houston -- for another home. "
