    Hakeem's greatness is self-evident.

I need not any more evidence to know he is the best center ever, it was just a treat being able to watch him when he stepped on the court. But i just don't know how great this list is to look at to show his greatness... it has vlade divac on it !

Hakeem's Quadruple Double was very nice. I had that front page of the newspaper for... I think I still have it somewhere.

does this make jamaal tinsley the best PG of all time?

one stat doesn't mean much. although those stat lines were amazing.

even though hakeem could hold his own against anyone, i think the top 5 goes:

    russell
    wilt
    kareem
    hakeem
    shaq

and thanks to the spurs keeping duncan at PF his whole career, even though he plays about half of his career at center, he will be considered the best PF of all time when he should only be the 6th best cetner.

So, looking at the list, Dream has:

    The top 6 scoring numbers

    The top 5 rebounding numbers

The second highest number of assists... trails the point guard.

    The top 3 block numbers

    Second in steals.

I think that is pretty much a given. The only other center with an argument, imo, is Moses.

And you can argue that Hakeem is the best defensive player to EVER play the game, regardless of position.

there is no way to put shaq behind dream although I like dream's game.
Shaq won 4 rings in different teams. That is enough to say that Shaq is better than dream.

Suffice it to say that the Pantheon of greatest centers ever includes The Dream. That's good enough for me.

Two reasons Dream is better than Shaq: 1) Clutch play. You can't give the ball to Shaq at the end of a game b/c of his free throws. At his peak, you could give Dream the ball at the end of the game and he would score every time.
    2) Defense. Dream was a much more imposing defensive presence, with better blocks, steals, and rebounding.

Are you saying you'd prefer a team of Shaq/Kobe to Dream/Kobe? Or Shaq/Wade to Dream/Wade?
