Again Jim Jackson pointing out that MDA is not the type of coach who will pull his guys together and make our guys focus on this opportunity as opposed to a Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, JVG. Fatty says he didn't see Harden nor MDA really get the group together and show some form of emotion, which Mobley correctly pointed out is something you never see from them. This is basically a silly notion that fans and people visually want to see a team get fired up, but there is a point to be made: we did not see one huddle on the court that CP3 usually initiates. Did not see any fire in their eyes nor anyone during a time-out - from what we could see - really get the group fired up. Like Jim and Fatty say, it can help if you have a coach or a player who fires them up and talks about seizing the moment and put extra focus on the task at hand. Thoughts?
Didn't watch, but honestly does anybody ever remember a coach "seizing the moment" in a pivotal game 5? Like last year when we went to CP3 down the stretch - does that count?
It's about a coach reminding the team of the task at hand when you see a guy go down, not the same. It's also not about remembering, Jim Jackson telling you how it was for him under those coaches as opposed to MDA. I'll take his word as I don't see Jim as the kind of guy who just puts stuff out there for fun, to feed anti-Rockets narrative and add fuel to fire, like some former NBA guys.
It was a failure to seize the moment. Rockets should have taken that game yesterday. But it’s the personality of our stars and coach. Could you picture Hakeem and Rudy not seizing an opportunity like yesterday? Hakeem would have willed and dragged the rockets to victory. Well, Harden and CP3 and MDA have the opportunity to rewrite the narrative tomorrow and Sunday. Let’s see what happens..
Our 'pumped' guys are GG and Faried... guys that are bouncing waiting for the action to start... GG got 3 mins and Faried has gone MINA (missing in no action)... The rest of our guys are mostly 'pumped when good things happen' - ie get pumped after good plays... CP3s leadership hasnt been where it has been in the past - a large part of his fat contract... and James... well James you never really know whats happening behind that beard... but yeh... there's some truth to this... loss of focus has always been one of our stumbling points... look how we started the game with 'turnoverfest'... and tossing lobs to CC from the top of the key - as opposed to driving, drawing the d and tossing it up from inside the ft line - utilizing his quickness and not allowing the d to react to a telegraphed pass... MDA has already been run outta a few places - he aint gonna risk getting 'McHaled'...
