Yes we're helping the Lakers but someone's gonna anyways. Not many team are going to reject free prospects.

They get their cap and we get a intriguing stretch big.

What do you propose we trade for Moritz Wagner?

There's way too many "trade proposals" on here that are just listing players on other teams.

Literally nothing. A future protected second rounder. Lakers in this situation would not want any salary back what so ever.

If you think that's what they'd take, I'm all for doing that for a 6'11 prospect.

Is the fact that Rox are over the cap squash that deal.

Hell no. If the Rockets help the Lakers clear the necessary cap space to offer a max contract to Walker, Butler, Irving or Leonard, Morey should be fired on the spot.

Nobody in the NBA should help the Lakers out of their cap space dilemma, either.

Yeah, just came back to post this. This violates the salary matching rules. We could potentially trade Hartenstein or someone, but that seems lateral..?

The Rockets can only take a maximum salary of 175% of what they send out. In this case, that's $0, so $0.

We could potentially use a trade exception, like the Ryan Anderson trade exception? (asking a capologist)

I do believe the options would be either to use a trade exception (the Rockets have a few) OR send a non-guaranteed contract in exchange (eg Chiozza)

Wagner is intriguing. Maybe I would also ask the Lakers for a 2nd rounder for doing them the favour

Not interested in helping the Fakers.

Not if his salary fits in one of their TPE's.
