All of you saavy Rocks fan know that Jason Collier (and numerous other recent NBA draft and lottery signees) can NOT be traded until Decemeber 15th. The RealGM website will let you trade Collier for a comparably salaried player (I used Marcus Fizer for the test). Also, I was informed in another thread that there is a similiar "cooling off" period for recently signed free agents. The RealGM allowed me to trade Bulls signee Brad Miller for The Wiz. It's still a great tool, but not without the need for some minor human intervention and/or fine tuning. ------------------ GATER
The RealGM Trade Disclaimer page http://www.realgm.com/tradedisclaimer.php ) states that they haven't put in all the trade rules yet. They specifically mention the moratorium on trading recently signed players. This simulation takes into account many features of the CBA including the "15% Rule," "BYC Rules," "Trade Values for Draft Picks," and many more. There are a few things that this simulation does not yet take into account such as the moratorium on trading recently signing players and escalated cap hits for players who have contracts through their 36th birthday. We at Real General Manager take great care in applying the trading rules in the most accurate way possible. Even so, things such as incorrect player salaries or a missing trade rule (such as those listed above) may give you an incorrect conclusion. If you notice an incorrect salary or an oversight in the trading rules, please contract salaries@realgm.com and we will look into the matter and take the necessary corrective measures so that you, the fan, have the most accurate trading simulation found anywhere. Thanks for supporting Real General Manager, Inc. ------------------ [This message has been edited by aelliott (edited September 15, 2000).]
