Of course not, but again, that's not really relevant here. That was something that they started talking about after the fact, after they found out that the officer really didn't do anything at all wrong and they looked like morons out there. They then switched gears to start talking about something else and are now pretending that's what the whole thing was about from the beginning. It's nothing but an attempt to re-write history so they look less foolish.

In the beginning people were in the street talking about a poor gentle giant being murdered by a racist cop. Talking about him being shot execution style or shot in the back. Remember all of that? It had NOTHING to do with some vague institutional wrongdoing until the entire basis of the riots were thoroughly debunked.

Well bobby, if not for the riots those people would still be mistreated by the cops and the legal system. The protest and riots (and or why you believe they were protesting) are just minor and comparisons to what the police department have been doing for all of those years.

That's simply not true. The riots didn't cause the federal probe, the case in general did. They could have been peaceful and still had the same results, but they wanted to throw a temper tantrum because the mob didn't get their way.....and some just wanted to steal things.

    History is an odd thing.

Riots are NOT unique to black Americans and have a long history. Indeed many times if we look at the past we will see the lower class rise up and rebel against the ruling class. Oddly when it is long in the past it is viewed as a noble and honorable, if not brave act.... look at the very founding of this country, the French Revolution, the peasants in England rebelling numerous times against the crown, etc.

People also forget that not all the race protests in the 50's and 60's were peaceful, many of them were not reported and often dealt with at the local level at the whims of the ruling class, the white establishment. Sometimes fairly, many times not so fairly.

It is just odd how that works.... if you read reports, at the TIME of other riots and rebellions, many many people were against the riots and viewed them negatively, including the American Rebellion.

Well that's why it's so important to re-write history in order to make it seem like there was a legitimate reason for the Furguson riots when it was really just a lynch mob out to get an innocent man.

If they didn't re-brand the riots after the fact, there's no way they'd be looked back on favorably, but now some will see it as a civil rights thing, which is hilarious.

Well how many of the prior historical events that are viewed favorably were rewritten historically or are viewed as honorable?

    The French Revolution?
    The American Revolution?
    The Civil Rights Movement?
    The LA Riots?
    The Watts Riots?
    English riots?
    The Catholic Irish Riots?
    The Orange Marches?

People have a more favorable opinion of them now than they did right after they happened, and it has only been 20 years. How do you think they will be viewed in another 20 years?

Yeah, that's true, and it's kind of sad. Both the LA riots and the Furguson riots were just stupid....but history can see fools as heroes I guess.

And with 50% of the population being poor and or low income _ is probably why we should be paying more attention to the militarization of the police force ("thanks Obama")... Don't forget that mainstream media wasn’t covering Ferguson for the 1st couple of days... Robin Williams death was getting all the coverage. They were forced to show if because social media was blowing up... It was almost like the government didn't want the rest of the country to see them practicing.

And it was a riot at a pumpkin fest around the same time that didn't get much attention...

Depending on what you think about the treaty of 1783 _ they may have be right to have a negative opinion about the revolution.

The saddest thing about the LA Riots is that immediately afterward there weren't join protests by both the black and Korean communities.

A little more than a decade ago, I saw a conference with some Korean activists, one of whom was a Los Angeles Police officer.

When the riots started the police were initially going to go to the scene and go then protect Koreatown, but calls were made, and the police were called away from Koreatown, and ended up guarding Beverly Hills which was still far away. Of course Koreatown was savaged and ripped down by rioters.

Sadly there was no outrage from the Korean community after this. Instead there was some resentment toward African American communities and a continued belief that if they just worked hard and followed the rules, they would be accepted granted the same protection as anyone else.

Of course that isn't the case because the police will always go to Beverly Hills and let Koreatown or South Central burn until those communities start using their voice to gain power and force the status quo toward change.

How could the police be called away from where the threat actually was in order to guard a place where there was no threat? It was a shame. There were two communities that were abandoned in favor of one community. Those communities should be working together to change government favoritism.

Hopefully in a truthful light, and not by the liar witnesses who stirred up the nation over nothing.

Darren Wilson was vindicated. The liar witnesses and race hustlers (including Obama) have blood on their hands.

Your continued lack of a belief in people taking responsibility for themselves is amusing and amazing. It has been duly noted, however.

What are you trying to say with this post, from what I can tell it's fairly nonsensical.

Texxxie is saying that Obama bears responsibility for the deaths of policemen by the shooters who blamed Ferguson.

The truth is that the responsibility for the tragic deaths of those officers lies with the people who actually killed them... those that committed the acts.

Call it nonsensical if you want I don't care.

Well now that you explained it, your statement makes perfect sense. I just didn't follow it before so that's why I asked.

Absolutely the blame goes on those who killed the officers, those who incited the riot in Furguson, those who lied to stir up the overly emotional under thinking mob.

Obama could have done things to calm that situation and didn't, but it's not his fault IMO by any means. Not helping isn't causing.

I'm surprised there haven't been more riots since 2008.

The decision to over militarize the police possibly shares that same underlying belief.

Then can liberals stop blaming George Bush for the creation of ISIS and blame ISIS for creation of ISIS?

    How can ISIS creates ISIS?

Bush's Iraq war and policy over there seeded for the eventual ISIS to come to a major power. That doesn't mean Bush is responsible for ISIS actions. ISIS is responsible for their own actions.

Good luck imagining what Obama policy cause people to kill cop, never-mind blaming him for their actions.
