would romeo go back to defensive coordinator? If so, I hope the Colts hire him. Though if Luck gets healthy, he could probably run that brady dink dunk offense pretty well. I'm assuming that's the offense Vrabel would take with him. It's better than trying to run it with hoyer or mallet.
Hard to evaluate Vrabel's performance with all the injuries, I don't think he did all that well. Talent is key though, and he didn't have much to work with. I would like to see "Black Santa" back in the role. He did great.
He was still there you know....they were still running RAC's system with RAC as the head of the defense, they just changed his title. When you lose 4 starters in your front 7 not many defenses will perform well.
For sure. He was that involved even when he was a head coach, defense is pretty much his thing. He's like a poor man's Wade Phillips.

I've actually heard the opposite of this. It may have been his "scheme" but he deferred completely to Vrabel. He was a sounding board for Vrabel but Vrabel had free reign to change everything and call the defense his way. Romeo even worked with OBrien on the offense a lot because of the role change.
Probably, if he doesn't retire. Last year showed what happens when you subtract high quality DBs in a league that values them more and more, And then top it off with injuries to key players. Vrabel will be a good head coach. Just needs time, like most newbie HCs.
Being a position coach, a coordinator, and a head coach all take slightly different skills. It's possible to excel at one but not another.
