I was surprised to see this on sina. I didn't know Mike Harris was playing in CBA. He's playing for Dongguan Marco Polo. In yesterday's game, he got 28pts and 10rbs in a win. Mike should dominate the CBA.

And it's good for us, cuz I would think we should be able to call him up any time we want. Just let Yao do the talking, and the club will let Mike go...

There's a post about this in the International/College part of the forum. :) I don't remember if that link is posted in it though.

Oops, my bad. But honestly I don't check the I/C forum that often. And I believe lots of other posters are the same. But I do agree this is the wrong forum to post it. Mod, please lock. Thanks.

C'mon, Mike Harris is a Rocket. He's just spending some time in China to build up a fan base for a shoe deal.

I know I have said this a million times, but Mike Harris isn't a Power Forward.

He's possibly strong enough to play one, but he should be playing SF.

I wish we could have kept him too, but there isn't any room for him on this roster.

This is just stupid. Are you saying Harris is strong enough to guard other power forwards? He will simply get abused. People may be able to shoot over Hayes, but they sure as hell will be uncomfortable establishing a good post position against him. If harris was the defender, opposing pf's will have a field day with him.

Just because you are of similar height and can rebound...doesn't mean you play the same position.

Mike Harris is neither a prototype PF nor a SF. He's a tweener. But that could be said for 90% of the PF coming out of the NCAA too.

with Battier struggling, it would have been nice to see what Harris could do rotating in at SF.

That's the first thing I thought. Good move!
Interesting use of our China connection via Yao.

So CBA is Rockets Development league. :D I think not. Mike Harris plays in China because they pay him.

Mike doesn't have one yet. He needs to make the Rockets big club before getting an acutal shoe deal.

His agent is working on a sock deal right now, though.

Agree with you. He's not a PF.

Harris would have been a smaller version of david lee. they took a punt on Snyder because of he's physical attributes, but i would have loved to keep Harris.

I think he was a similar player as Bonzi Wells but apparently a much better offensive version.

    :D
