The one that won 65 Games and only didn't win a championship because the refs cheated him . . . .. AGAIN!

Though I love the Van Gundy boys, Mike "Big D" D'Antoni had the Rockets five wins from a championship. The closest they've been since actually winning it.

JVG couldn't get us past the Jazz when they fronted Yao and stopped passes to him inside the paint.

He shares as much of the first round misery as TMac

It's crazy in hindsight how much trouble we had getting out of the first round back then. Nowadays, the Rockets just breeze through the first round.

It's debatable if it's the NBA 10+ years ago, but it has to be MD in today's NBA. JVG's style won't generate enough points to get the Rockets to playoff.

Yep. Yao, JVG will always carry that burden the way Tmac has.

It really depends on the game of the era and players.

D'A works better in this era with the NBA rules. JVG is old school.

D'Antoni also owned JVG back in the old school days

Les didn't want to tank to get high picks (incredible we won the lotto at 7), so we bet on Free Agency.

Houston has always been a chill and tax free stripper capital for free agents, yet no one came at a discount or even a max contract for the A-listers.

It's not MDA or Morey who's attracting players today.

I will never forgive VanGundy for subjecting us to that parade of ole burned out Knicks. That was just awful. Really awful! Then it was the mud-wresting style of play. Almost unwatchable. MDA has his faults, but his teams are more fun to watch.

JVG is a better all around coach - MDA has a far superior cast... plus Biglydick to finally give him a respectable defense...

both have their pros n cons... but I'd rather go to war with that tenacious lil terrier than Pringles...

03-04 Yao/Francis JVG vs pre Nash Mike D’Antoni: 3-1 suns

Yao/Tmac JVG vs seven seconds or less D’Antoni
    04-05: 2-2 tie
    05-06: 3-0 suns
    06-07: 3-1 suns

Total: 11-4 D’Antoni over JVG. Fun basketball over slow basketball

Mike D’Antoni will take his victory lap now
