My #1 favorite player is: Hakeem. My second favorite player is: Otis Thorpe. Conley is a solid #3.

Also, for people who claim to be rockets fans, anybody that ranks Clyde above OT tells me a lot about your rockets fandom. There wouldn't be any championships without Otis, period.

Also, it is interesting that the players that I like are all guys that didn't do a lot of talking. OT, Hakeem and Conley are quite killers.

I like him, but nope. It'd probably be zach or tony next, but I am talking about players that I absolutely love everything about their game.

what ... not sure if this is worthy of a thread, but I'm fully behind you if you say he's your 3rd favorite player.

Hell, my third favorite NBA player of all time may very well be Cuttino Mobley.

I get it, what you're saying. Conley is a good choice. There is something about hard workers leaving it all on the court, who clearly love the game and their job and who their teammates love on and off the court.

That said: Cuttino is much sexier than Conley, and has a better nickname

this makes me laugh for some reason...

I think it goes something like this:

Conley is about to show what that he is on Rudy's level.

I mean, it's just uncanny how appropriate your user name is. It's like every single time I read a post of yours, at some point, I find myself saying,

    WHAT????????????????

Not with your choice of Mike Conley, nor with your choice of HO or OT. But to say that the Rockets wouldn't have won the first championship without Otis?? Um, no. The Rockets wouldn't have won the first championship without Hakeem. And liking Clyde over OT tells you absolutely nothing about one's Rockets fandom. Again, see big bold comment above.

Oh, I forgot, Hakeem won the first championship by himself with a bunch of role players.

    Man, you asked for it.

Liking Drexler over OT is a Houston thing dating back to Phi Slamma Jamma when he played with Akeem at University of Houston. He's a freaking Houston native.

Don't ever say what you said about Drexler to Houstonians again. And yes, we all love OT as well. sheesh.

That was a very naive comment that tells a lot about your lack of knowledge of Houston, and Akeem and Clyde's history...not to mention the '95 title that required Clyde.

Yeah, that's true, but the really hardcore rockets fans back in the day, remember that before ot and hakeem getting on the same page the rockets were going nowhere.

I watched the rockets religiously at least 5 years before they got their first championship. Also, otis thorpe brought clyde to the rockets.

Frankly I probably know more about pre-rockets championship years than more rockets fans here, and otis thorpe is severely underrated as the robin to hakeem's batman.

It wasn't until otis asserted himself in the playoffs that the rockets became contenders.

Not really sure where you're getting that Otis was underrated.

Never see a bad word said about him 'round these parts.

Jerry Lin is more deserving of such high ranking.
