So Memphis just guaranteed 247 million to two players, and neither of them have ever been an all-star.
Wait until the next bargaining agreement when LeBron, Paul and co. get rid of the over-36 clause and we see the league's first $200 million dollar superdeals.
And all you right wingers in this thread, The NBA Salary Cap / Max Salary is pretty much a socialist system that takes advantage of the players... Can you imagine if the NBA just did away with the Cap like in baseball? How much would Lebron be paid? 50M per year? 75?
This is why I love the UFC more than the NBA. These ridiculous contracts make me want to vomit. People thought the Gilbert Arenas contract was bad. At least he was a great player before the knee injury. What is Conley? An above average point guard who sometimes randomly throws the ball away deep into the stands?
Conley is a superstar?? Under/ overpaid relative to other players I think you meant. Relative to real life these ball players are way overpaid. It's not even a contact sport. UFC fighters and NFL players? Sure pay them more.
He also played in the 90's c'mon dude. How much did George Mikan make playing basketball no one else came close to him during his time.
No they're not overpaid. Player salaries are always based relative to how many people are watching you, NBA players get paid more because they have a global audience whereas NFL and UFC fighters have a more niche audience. Contact has nothign to do with with it, at his height Tiger Woods was blowing everyone away and golf is a sport 60 year olds can play with ease. Also if you're gonna base it on contact highest paid people would have to be soldiers, security guards, cops and firemen since they do jobs that can result in death.
Probably getting too much but I'm surprised I've seen so much anger all across the internet today. Twitter, reddit, clutchfans... why? Who cares?
Yeah, stop using your brain and go sign Parsons and Conley to max contracts I don't even know how you can talk bad about what the Rox FO has done when you post stuff like these
Stop acting like you know it all, especially this year Those crazy numbers in a cray Free Agency I do not give a damn about Harden, Dan Toney or any of the FO guys We should weather the storm and head towards rebuilding
the nfl actually has much higher revenues than the nba. it's just that their rosters are more than 3 times bigger than the nba. and really, probably only 7 or 8 guys on an nba roster really get all of the money whereas i would think a good 35-40 people on an nfl roster need to get paid to have decent backups (i'm not an nfl cap expert so i could be off). so you could be looking at more like 4-5x for nba contracts. and even more, since the nfl doesn't have max contracts, the top players aren't forced to share as much with the mid-level guys. so mid-level guys in the nba get even crazier money than mid-level nfl guys.
