Pretty much expected as things are going. I have to think that this means there were willing to let Briesel go to focus on Myers. ...I hope at least.

I think these guys are replaceable. It appears to me that the great advantage of the Zone Blocking System is that the offensive linemen get some momentum before they engage the defense man. With the movement they don't have to be the biggest strongest guys.

I'm sure Matt Schaub takes great comfort in my assessment.

I don't think we have enough cap space to match a decent offer.

Mike is a tough SOB and played great but the positives are 1) he is a guard and typically easiere to replace 2) Caldwell should be ready to take the job ( hopefully) and 3) like dubious said the ZBS does lend itself to be able to find guys that most other teams don't like, I.e. smaller and quicker lineman. Brisiel wasa picked off a scrap heap so let's hope the texans can do it again.

This does, however, really put the pressure on getting Myers back. I'm sure Myers ' agent has a smile on his face

Let's see how cohesive our oline will be next year only returning 40% of our starters. Next year is looking really ****ty.

    I'd take Konz @26

    edit:

Surprised Brisiel got hat much on open market, but that is what happens when your oline performs like Texans. I think Texans get Myers

Hope this is the case as well but I have my doubts especially given when Brisiel went down with his injury this past season and they played Caldwell and our run game took a big hit or was at least slowed significantly while Caldwell was on the field. Just don't have a lot of confidence in the guy.

Hope we get Myers, but Oakland overpaid like a mofo.

Good for him. 3rd best player on O-Line last year and a beast to come back for us in the playoffs. Brisiel > Winston.

Agreed. And unlike Myers, who is great for the system, but bad as a man blocker, I think Brisiel can succeed anywhere.

Yeah. That was worrisome. I have been high on Caldwell since they drafted him but his performance last year did make me second guess a little. I'm still holding out hope that he was just not use to game time reps.

Hey, at least the left side is still strong. Simple solution....run left every time.

extend brown during the season to top five left tackle money. I don't want him and his fiance eying the east coast. :(
by this time next year we could be saying good bye to the 06ers.

The hits keep on coming. Ugly offseason for the Texans so far, other than holding onto Arian.

I think people are completely overstating the losses of Brisiel and Winston.

I guarantee that nothing changes in our pass protection and running game.
