He'll be a free agent this off season. He's played for Rick before and if he is willing to take a cut to compete for a championship, I could see him taking the MLE. Thoughts?
Why would he leave a team that has Al Horford, J-Smoove, Joe Johnson and all those young talent to work with? That's a PG's wet dream (good passing pgs).
We won't be using the full MLE this summer. That would be pretty stupid in the grand scheme of things.
Wouldn't mind having him this season but giving him a multi-year MLE this coming summer would be a mistake. Bibby is having a nice bounce-back year (so far) but he isn't worth a long-term investment at his age.
I'd rather have Chris Webber come out of retirement to play for the Rockets But no, Do not sign him, he's a chuck-first and shoot-2nd Point guard.
Wow that's saying a lot. You want to have some guy who can't run the floor at all that wants the ball 90 percent of the time so he can shoot those free throw line 45 degree angle jump shots (which he can make).
3 years maybe, but I doubt that will be enough. Another team will max him out for 5yrs/$38MM and that would not be smart for the Rockets. I have a hunch that Bibby will decline very soon (maybe before the end of this season).
Players like him don't decline much until that ripe age of 33. I'm positive that there will be other teams that offer more years but there always is a chance.
it's dead obvious that we are not winning a championship this year. That's why many CF fans are looking to next yr. If we can pull off a blockbuster before the trade deadline, then maybe things will be different.
I forgot to add... Do you think many teams will fork out THAT much for bibby? Everyone seems to be savingup for the BIG free agency year of 2010.
