Microwaves don't kill plants. People kill plants.

It's a shame b/c the interwebs is full of great information, but unfortunately there are a lot of people that jump on websites that backup some urban legend they heard from someone's sister's-brother in-law's- cousin's- best friend...and even though it's pretty obvious its made up BS, they go on to other sites and spew it like it's true.

As much as the internet has made information easier to get, it has also made untrue BS easier to get...it's up to the person to think logically and research just a little bit to see if it's true and try not to simply copy and paste without giving any thought to anything.

Hey BRB...I'm going to go sell my bed. I could fall off of it and fall into a coma. Can't take those kinds of risks.

The ban was lifted decades ago. No countries ban microwaves today. From what I am reading the ban was actually due to the safety of the microwave ovens being produced. Like the actual oven was dangerous due to poor construction.

You do recognize that microwaves are light, right?

Got rid of my microwave years ago. Haven't had one since college. They are convenient but I hate the uneven heating. I tend to use ovens and toaster ovens for re-heating stuff.

Lower the microwave power from 100%. That allows for more even heating. I learned that from doing my microwave research after reading this thread.

If you think about it there's a microwave in every one of us. If we leave something bottle in without checking the temp it could pop, and that could kill someone.

I think if your kidneys fail to filter out the excess of this dihydrogen monoxide you can get a rapid spike in blood pressure that could prove to be fatal in the long term.

I rarely use mine for the same reasons. Microwaves destroy the texture of your food.
