    Great move for the price; hard to believe he is only getting 2 years. He could be a QO candidate in 2020 if all goes well. Offense is now good to go. They can wait for Realmuto’s or Grandal’s price to drop to a point they like or roll with what they have. Plus if they keep Tucker and he proves ready Brantley can DH or play 1B. Only real need now is SP. Totally trust Luhnow to make it happen.

    1B Gurriel
    DH White
    C Chirinos

    I like Brantley at first or DH with Tucker in left as well. Stacked lineup.

    Does this mean we're out of the Nelson Cruz mix? If we get him as well to play DH....good lawd.

    Team-friendly deal using normal replacement level. Would have liked that money spent on pitching or catching. I fully expect to have one of the following three things to happen:
    1. have egg on my face in a year;
    2. I will hear "he brings veteran presence" to justify his presence in a year; or
    3. Reddick and/or Gurriel get traded before the season.

    Supposedly we are still in the mix for Cruz. Man, if we end up with Brantley, Cruz, and then trade for a ToR pitcher......LOOK OUT!

    Michael Brantley is a superior hitter to Josh Reddick and Gurriel. He is one of the best contact hitters in baseball and willing to take a walk. I don’t see how you can complain about adding him.

    Edit: Brantley swung at 1008 pitches last season and only missed 111 times. His 11% whiff rate was 3rd lowest in MLB.

    Splash! I like this addition because it brings versatility and another great bat to our lineup.

    Trevor Bauer is not welcome in the Astros’ clubhouse. Bregman and Cole would both want to kick his ass from day one.

    Cole doesn't like him, that's true.

    Bauer and Bregman are good. They work out together at Dynamic Sports Training (DST) over at Premier Baseball of Texas ( Tomball). That's a friendly rivalry, no real hate there.

    I’m glad they got him to bite on two years. He wanted four when the winter began and then was holding out for three from the Astros. Getting him for two is a huge win.

    The Astros fans will love him.

    Haha. No chit. And don’t blow out ur arm trying to throw 110 mph either. But he did say Astros got a “steal”, not “cheap”. Something like “can’t believe we got him and not trade away prospects.”
