happens a lot they hold some tickets and then release them late

i looked at the ticket master like and nose bleeds were going for 178 apiece before the fees.

the game will sell out by tonight i am sure a lot of people will buy those up since they are probably cheaper than the secondary market prices

I think its more about the price. Die hard fans will have season tix when it was released, and casual fans proly can't afford most of the lower bowl tix.

To be fair, Miami has been hit very hard by the economic crisis.

If I were in Miami I'd be on the beach all day and fist pumpin' all night, bottom line there are a lot of things to do in Miami.

This is why there is a relation between how many people go the games and how much there is to do in the city, see Salt Lake City, there is nothing to do so that's why they sell out Jazz games.

Errr... wtf? I was going to be in Miami with a few friends in December, and we couldn't get tickets to any of those games during that time. Did they just overprice tickets for the opener or something?

I've heard some Miami fans saying the nosebleeds were like $150+ so that's why it's not sold out.

$150 for nosebleeds? I'd rather watch it at a bar.

They fired the season ticket sales people.

The tactic of releasing tickets late is mainly employed to (unsuccessfully) try and fight the secondary market (scalpers).

The amount of tickets sold doesn't matter -- what matters is revenue. For example, you could sell 20,000 tickets at an average price of $100 or you could sell 18,000 tickets at an average price of $250. It's obvious which one is the better scenario.
