Leonard. I saw almost no IL bball this year, but watching his draft evaluation tapes has made me a believer. This kid has the talent to be one of the better centers if he gets coached up. Surprisingly athletic for his size and he sounds like a good kid. I think if the rockets move up as high as #7, they have to strongly consider him. But then again, maybe our org will go for instint gratification and take a more NBA-ready prospect with less upside. That seems to be the MO.
Zeller is much more of a known prospect with quality court time to back up his draft position. Leonard did not impress last season at all despite having the physical attributes to look the part. IMO its Zeller. However, from everything you hear people seem to really be intrigued by Leonard just because of the slightly better physical attributes. I would be very happy if they ended up getting either player, but Zeller would be my pick.
latest draft express mock actually has Zeller and Leonard switching spots..zeller to the bucks and Leonard to houston..
Seriously missing the neither option. I don't think I could choose. I guess I'd pick Zeller, since I'm pretty sure he'll at least be serviceable.
If Leonard is on the board @ #14, take him. If Zeller or Melo is on the board at #16, take them. So I say take em both.
The only way we will get a chance at Meyers Leonard is to trade up with Toronto. He will be gone somewhere between #9 and #12. I predict Zeller will slip to #14 and perhaps all the way to #16 if we decide to draft a SG at #14.
Leonard has a much higher ceiling. Zeller will average between 8ppg - 14ppg. Leonard will average between 4ppg - 20ppg High risk, high ceiling.
If we are going to trade up may as well go for Drummond. CF would immediately switch tunes and start calling for Morey's head because he was using safe assets to trade for far too risky players.
Hoping we can get 1 of Drummond, Leonard, or Zeller. Preferably the one of the first 2 as opposed to the latter. Even though Zeller has a greater chance to pan out as a roll player.
