The Rockets need to have mental toughness in order to play consistent and win many games. Mentally preparation is very important if you want to win many games. Rockets 22 winning steak back in 2008 had to do with mental toughness.

at least sampson's admitting he can improve. mchale has never said anything like this to the press. he always speaks as if his gameplans, team preparation, and in-game management are nothing short of flawless.

Start benching players if they aren't playing hard, even the stars.

It isn't mental toughness. When the jumpshot is not falling our basic flaws come to the surface. We need to get to a level where we can overcome a bad shooting game and get the win.

I think a way to do this is change our assistant coaches up.

There are other teams who have been together longer that are in a worse position than ours.

This is one of the things I like about Sampson, he's a straight shooter and tends to tell it like it is and is more honest about the situation than McHale tends to be. Not saying Sampson should take over but this is a quality I wished the head coach McHale had. It would be good to see McHale acknowledge these issues more than the gobbledy gook he spews out after games.
