    He wasn't a good head coach but he has still had a a good reputation as an assistant coach around the league.

    Alvin Gentry was a poor head coach but a good assistant. JB Bickerstaff was well-regarded when he was an assistant. Just because you fail badly as a head coach doesn't mean you cease to have any basketball value.

    JB might not have been a very good head coach. But why are you guys laughing at him landing an assistant job?

    JBB inherited a mess mid-season. He wasn't able to significantly improve the team, but it's not fair to judge him on this season alone. Best of luck to him with his new team.

    A year ago people were singing the praises of jbb for fixing the rockets defense and being a huge reason we were in the west finals. People were genuinely nervous he was going to get a head coaching job and even suggested firing McHale to hire him
