George was/is a rental gamble and melo was/is a nearly past his prime disgruntled superstar that wanted to be traded. I think at least for this year okc has a dangerous team.
there's no way we're beating them "easily" u could make the argument that they're better than us now, they're certainly more talented OKC was already dangerous before Melo arrived
Not surprising. Can't expect much when RA is the centerpiece of a trade. Even Kanter has a better contract lol
like i said the media hates harden and the rockets, rules changes designed to limit harden.. basically scarpping harden roster to get cp3. no melo. and the pressure to repeat as the 2nd seed. Lets just hope cp3 isnt dwight part 2 and is broken down when we get him. and harden has to do everything again
Good for the West. Bad for Warriors. Finally get this clown show over with. Lesson learned: don't give these unverified dudes on Twitter time of the day. Glad Morey didn't gut the roster for Melo. This is still a 57 win team folks. Relax.
Westbrook > Paul Robertson < Harden George > Ariza Melo > Anderson Adams > Capela I think the Thunder will have a chance to knock out the Warriors. Rockets and Blazers will compete against each other.
I know people will think I'm salty but I've been saying the OKC is a bad fit for Melo before the trade. If Westbrook couldn't work with passive Durant, what makes you think it's going to work out with Melo? The guy who wouldn't run MDAs system because he wanted to get his shots?
Yeah and we gave up half the damn team to get it done...AND HE WAS A FREE AGENT... Meanwhile OKC gets gifted two all stars for a bag of chips and a second round pick.
I honestly don’t give a f*** , I’m just glad it’s finally over. I’ll go to war with anyone of those teams . Red Nation let’s get it !!!
Yep, some posters called it, we unnecessarily gave up too much for CP3 from what I understand...CP3 and the Rockets being too generous to the Clippers. Didn't the Rockets want to do the Clippers a solid or something IIRC? It end up biting them in the Melo talks, another draft pick, a Dekker, would have made it much easier to at least get a 3rd team involved.
Im pleased. I never thought signing guys older than GSWs core guys was going to beat them. We would be looking for a magical run instead of building a team to compete for the next 3-5 years. Harden can still get better, but so can Steph, Durant, Klay, and Draymond. How much better can Melo get moving forward?
I'm bummed, but not devastated. Anderson is a far better asset than Kanter and McDermott combined. New York didn't see it that way, and that's fine. But as much as I wanted Melo in Houston, if Gordon or Capela has been dealt too, it would have killed this team's depth, and they would be a worse basketball team on paper than they are today. No, we didn't get the super trio that we all wanted. But I'm still super stoked by Chris Paul and the defensive additions they added this summer, and I still like the Rockets chances to push for the 2 seed this season. If they can keep Paul long-term, there's even more potential to add pieces a year from now.
