If he's declared eligible, he could be a Top 3 pick. Personally, I'm taking him over Bender, Brown, Murray and anyone else not named Ingram or Simmons.
He won't be drafted top 4. But after that? I hope Milwaukee drafts him with their top 10 pick. Got nothing to lose anyway. This draft is awful. If he doesn't pan out it's okay. Not much chance a pick after the top 6 gives you a starter anyway.
For a 7-footer, he is sporting a rather modest 7'2 wingspan. So I'm not sure if the thread title is super accurate.
He entered the draft. We need to either use our 2 2nds to trade up for him or we need to take him ag 13/14. Hes the steal of the draft
NCAA must have basically told his camp there was no chance he'd be eligible for college ball next year. I have to imagine somebody in the lottery will take a chance on him if his workouts go well, but pretty much no chance he goes in the Top 5-6 range y'all are talking about.

yes but after the top 6-7 the rest of the available players in other drafts would be late 1st round talent. This draft is really awful. So why not pick Maker in the lottery and shoot for the stars. Not much chance the rest of the draft would offer a starter anyway.
If the Rockets are in the lotto (looks likely), and Thon Maker is available, let's take him! He is a far superior talent to Ben Simmons or Dante Exum. Give him a year, but he is a dominant force waiting to happen. Chances are that he schools everyone in the pre draft camps and goes top 5.
I don't know if you are trolling or being serious. Remember Bruno Caboclo? The Brazilian Durant? The guy who was 2 years away from being 2 years away? Well, Thon Maker seems to be 2 years away from being 2 years away from being 2 years away. Don't let the hoopmixtapes highlights fool you. The guy can't even dominate against high-school competition, I'm not even talking about D1 College basketball. We shouldn't even be talking about him as an NBA level prospect yet.
