jordan's line drive shooting form was not conducive to very long range shot accuracy. forget 23'9", today's sharpshooters are regularly launching from way back to avoid defenses -- that line drive simply does not work from 30ft. jordan would still have the ability to create space by elevating/etc at the arc, but again that would lower his shooting percentages even further. i can't get with the "he would have been a great 3pt shooter in our era" campaign

    This isn’t about Jordan’s greatness
It is about espn and Stephen A getting
    Ratings for their documentary

    mission accomplished

Im going to guess you were born in 1995 with that username. You never even watched jordan most likely. You dont understand

If trash talking was allowed, Jordan over anyone, everyone. No players would of withstand the trash talking he does.

The truth is he would. I saw Harden being shutdown by Bledsoe, I can only imagine the clamps MJ would put on him

I really hope you all are baiting. If you saw prime Westbrook doing 50point triple doubles and mvps then imagine Westbrook with more height, best perimeter defense in the league, and with one of the most effective shots in basketball history. That was Jordan.

Do you think with a GOAT coach, HOF teammates, HOF homecourt and HOF whistle Harden couldnt have won a lot of rings?
Especially going vs a weak competition just like Michael....
Harden is just flat out a better and more skilled basketball player you just fell for athleticism and espn propaganda.

I’m not too blind as a Rockets fan to understand that Jordan was great in the meaningful parts of crucial games too. Especially in the playoffs on both sides of the floor. He had a great coach with a great system as well. Consistently making big play after big play in crucial moments of the games is something Harden has to improve bottom line.

Just like when Hakeem blocked John Starks shot at the end of game 6 in the 94 Finals. Instead of turning into a turnover king... just show up positive and be the reason the Rockets couldn’t lose.

HoF homecourt? What about a HOF jersey or logo?

Don't be delusional dude. Harden doesn't have the bucket making ability that Jordan had hence why Jordan could have above 60% ts without playing the 3>2 game and having a lower ftr than Harden. That means you could actually rely on him more in the playoffs. League average ts% during Jordan's era was like 5% lower than the modern era and still Jordan had 60%ts seasons on high volume which means he was far an away more efficient than his peers and still led the league in scoring for TEN SEASONS.

Do you really think Harden's form is picture perfect?

He is probably shooting in that range averaging fewer attempts.

He doesn't need to average 10 attempts per game, just 5 to 7.

MJ would start working on his shooting form in junior high and high school or earlier.
That's what modern players do these days.

Field day of getting to the rim and getting fouled..... all the flopping and flailing today.

He wouldn't have won 6 ships though, there are too many mediocre teammates and mediocre coaching these days for that.

Unless he lucked out into getting Shaq, Gasol and Phil again.

Harden's generation had access to proffesional level coaching from middle school in AAU basketball. Jordan in the modern era would definitely have a slightly different form.

they are escaping Harden because they don't want to play with him, and coaches don't want to coach him. He plays for himself and is uncoachable. The hall of famers you are talking about were made along side Jordan. They were noones before

you bring up harden, that guy is facing the most sophisticated team defenses in the history of bball. not only intelligently packing the paint, but also bringing help in the right situations and at the precise optimal moments. now just imagine harden trying to defeat all that without the 27FT jumpshot in his repertoire..

another point is that there isn't nearly as much bbq chicken in the league today. i mean just take some of the guys on jordan's own teams, off the top of my head wennington, jack haley, will perdue, brad sellers, dave corzine, luc longley, even kerr & hodges -- just imagine today's stars like harden getting the switch on these chumps or getting to the rim w/ these chumps as the last lines of D lol. there are at least a half dozen youtube videos exposing just how overhyped defenses were back then

back to the line-drive shot format, my point here is the trajectory of the shot, without sufficient arc you have considerably less room for error to clear the rim. it just gets more and more difficult to consistently make that kind of shot the further to you go out. would he have had a different shot and form altogether in this era? maybe, but imo your shot is more something you're born with

You guys getting static in background or is it just me? If Jordan came up in this era he would have been a gamer in his dorm room or playing with his smart phone. In an unofficial interview, he enjoyed gambling because of the electronic glitz and glamour. There are to many distractions for Michael Jordan's personality to get as good as he was in today's era
