    http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/page/powerrankings_2017week2/ranking-mlb-teams-week-2-season

Early-season rankings automatically mean some potential big moves up or down as slumps deepen and hot clubs stay sizzling. Welcome to the reason why our second week invited some big moves up and down the rankings, with five teams making double-digit jumps up -- or down. Count the New York Yankees (up 12) and Cincinnati Reds (up 11) among the teams who made a big impression on the electorate, while everyone is now down on the slumping St. Louis Cardinals (down 11) and Toronto Blue Jays (down 12).

But the biggest surprise? That somebody, anybody, might already unseat the defending world champs just two weeks into their reign. But leave it to diminutive Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros to find a way to leave everyone looking up at them on top.

If only Hinch would kick dirt on the umpires, they'd be ranked even higher.

As much as the media s**ts on the Rockets, I think the Astros are very popular with the national guys.

Going back to the 2017 champs SI cover, I think we get a lot of love.

I thought #5 was high after the first week. While I now consider us a top 5 team, after some stellar play in the last week, I cant agree we are #1 until we play and beat another top 5 team in a series.

Just as long as its not Jon Heymann.

Winning now has obviously helped to validate Luhnow's plan... but it still wasn't that long ago where every media member ganged up to show the Astros (and Houston) the "50 states".

Astros get some of both. I think the baseball writers at ESPN (Olney, Kurkjian, Stark) are good guys that know their baseball (though Olney wasn't part of this) and rarely overly negative. Schoenfield has loved us for years.

Or if he just kicked dirt on Bannister the next time he's got him by the throat. Baby steps. ;)

I think you're wrong. You can't be the best, unless you are #1.

I know they've been showing the Astros love, but **** ESPN. I'm serious.

Right after they rank them number one all they talk about is how much Correa has sucked with no mention of the HBP.

To be fair, Correa sucked prior to the HBP.

True, but I'd think the HPB might have a little bit to do with his average exit velocity so far. And you'd think they'd mention some neat fact about Keuchel, McCullers, Devenski, or the bullpen in general.

Yes, but you'd think they'd be able to put SOMETHING positive in a blurb about the best team in baseball......
