i'm planning to buy a md/recorder or a new discman right now.. i already have a cd burner, so mixing songs isn't that big of a deal. so, in your opinion, what are the merits (if any) of getting a minidisc player? oh, i'm thinking of the sony md-zr90? ------------------ barkley for president
MD seems like a technology that never quite made it (much like BetaMax). If I had money to burn today, the product I'd go get is the new Nomad Jukebox from Creative. It holds 6 gigabytes (yes, it has its own hard drive) of MP3's. That equates to about 150 CD's of music on a portable player according to Creative. One thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a clip, so how portable is it? It also runs about $420 on the street the last time I looked. I think I'll wait for the price to come down and the bugs to be kicked out of it before I drop money on it. But for sheer value it can't be beat. I don't want an MP3 player simply because you can only hold a couple of CD's of music on them and they still are expensive. I don't see that much of an advantage over a CD player with MP3 players (at least not for me, anyway). Here's a link for the Nomad Jukebox in case you're interested : http://www.nomadworld.com/products/jukebox/ ------------------ I got nothin'. I'm suprised MD players and discs are still around since they came out about 8-9 years ago. Does anyone here actually have one? ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures.
