This is an absolute steal when compared to Ryan Anderson's contract.

WOOOWWW one of the best contracts so far, amazing what a good and healthy franchise can do for you. Batum took a paycut, minor but still and Marvin just takes a HUGE paycut!

How did Batum take a pay cut? The guy is nowhere near a franchise player, and he got a near-max contract.

    This is crazy.

I agree he's not a max guy, but the market dictates what guys are getting. I'm sure he meant taking a discount not a pay cut. Batum took 5 year $24 mil per instead of 4 year $28.5 per offered by Dallas.

Have to respect Batum and Williams for taking less to stay and help the team with cap space. Still going to be hard to compete w/o Jefferson, Lin and Lee when other teams in the East are also getting better.

Charlotte FO has been doing a great job except from that Bellineli deal.
But since they never can draft well anyway not much loss there.

Don't understand the Belinelli trade. You're trying to dump salary but end up with an aging SG who can't defend with a 3P shot that is broken. His 3P% dropped from 43% to 37% then to 31% the last two seasons. Some say he was on a bad Kings' team but the Kings were 10th in 3P%. Even notorious bad 3P shooters Gay and Rondo had higher 3P% than Belinelli. LOL

Hornets might not make the playoffs this year. They lost Lin, Lee(?), AL, who were major contributors last year. Marvin, Walker, Batum, an injure prone MKG, that is it. Their front court and back court have big holes.

And Knicks, Bucks, Magic get better, plus other eastern conference playoffs teams are not getting worse, except maybe Miami.

Decent team, kept together their core, if they can pick up another player in FA they're in good shape.

    Kemba
    Batum/Belineli
    MKG
    Williams
    Zeller/Kaminsky

Too bad free agency has ended and there's absolutely no way to affect that.

24 is the average, it's more like 20.5 first year capping out at 27.5 in his fifth year using 7.5% increases in all likelihood. Maxed out would be a $153m five year deal, he took $120m for the same five years. Big discount overall.
