Anyone catch any of it yet? IT started this morning. I wonder why they started it on a thursday . . . . . ROcket River
Got a point there, a masculine female hero. Daredevil got me hooked, LCage was ok for me. I still got X-files, Sneaky Pete, Beginnings of Stargate ....to catch up to. It's on the back burner.
Though its not the most entertaining season, I can appreciate that they are being creative and avoiding the normal cliches like 1) big baddie to be stopped 2) fate of the city is at hand The story does feel unfocused though. Big baddies help with that.
I thought is was much better than the first one Mainly because it was not *as* depressing. Somethings I liked some I didn't Spoiler SO . . . . IS her bad temper and bullshit personality a bi product of her powers now? If so that sucks Rocket River
I just finished season 2 Spoiler Just like season 1, I thought that David Tennant was the best part of the season....but this time around it wasn't because the rest of the season was boring, it was just because his appearances were kind of awesome. Also at the end when they were "near Westchester" I was laughing thinking how funny it would be if they were hanging out with the X-Men at the mansion.
Also, Spoiler it was kind of cool that they hinted at finally giving Trish her Hellcat powers, I knew it had to happen eventually and I was worried they were going to do the inhaler BS forever.
Spoiler nah, keep it simple. Her bad temper/personality is a bi-product of her job and excessive drinking, which is bi-product of her powers and bad memories of the past. Now, you're right...her mother's bad temper and personality are directly related to the brain damage, experiments and treatment. But I didn't view that as a meaning Jessica's traits are results of the same. I just view her personality as a female version of an alcoholic Nick Nolte in 48 hours, Clint had some roles like that, too. We just aren't accustomed to seeing recluse, onery female characters like that, even when we are beaten over the head with the similarities, ppl will still say, "No, Nick Nolte was different and much cooler, because I'm a guy and can relate to him" If you haven't guessed, I like Jessica Jones. I like the alcoholic detective roles.
I finally finished it. It was the most productive 13 hours of TV I ever watched. I had low expectations of JJ2. I watched it hoping it would further Netflix's superhero series by intermingling a couple other story lines from Netflix's other Marvel series. None of this came close to happening. If you're someone who has a busy schedule, enjoys TV series and looking for a good series to watch; Save yourself 13 hours and find something else to watch. If you are looking for something to watch in the background while doing more productive things, then this might be a good series for you. You can walk away 5 -10 mins and not miss a thing. You could actually skip a whole episode and not miss anything. This series is nothing more than a 13 hour of mother/daughter relationship. There is no villain. There is no real plot. There is no driving a future story or plot point. To roughly summarize, this was basically JJ1 w/out Kilgrave.
What a weird season. I still have 2 episodes left. It all seems rather pointless. Even the story does not really make sense.
