make controversial move in a book = sell more books (death of superman, cap is hydra)

put bankable star in movie = sell more tickets

asian females are everywhere in hollywood. vastly over represented to appease white guy asian fetish. Asian males are the ones without opportunities.

Far less than any asian actor they would gamble hundreds of millions on. She has been the lead in plenty of movies. If you want to count go to her filmography. I don't even like her, but neither is pandering. It is money.

Yeah, it's almost as if she held her own in a low budget Lost in Translation and then got offered many more roles and is now being paid 10 million so this movie gets noticed.

Some white guys think that the media/entertainment industry must only cater to white guys. Catering to white guys = normal, trying to involve any other audience = pandering. It's the same thing with the politics.

The market place is only going to get more diverse. Comic book writers and readers, playwrights, TV producers, etc. are getting more diverse. So some of you people better get use to it. Hollywood movies are the slowest part of the media industry to adapt. Even there, things change. Go re-watch Star Wars Episode IV, it is striking how white that movie is compared to, say, the latest Star Wars. There is not a single face of any other ethnic background in the movie.
