i know, this is a stupid question, but can anyone tell me, why elie didn´t sign with the rockets after the 97/98 (i think) season?

did he become a kind of "cancer" and the rocks didn´t want to resign him??

well the rox were looking to get younger, plus elie had perhaps his worst season that year. So the rox didnt want to sign him again.

Money. He wanted more from the Rocks than he eventually got when he signed with the Spurs.

Mario wanted a long-term deal from the Rockets, and they rightfully didn't give it to him. After all, he was coming off the worst shooting season of his career, and was becoming very bitter [after Stoudamire incident]. The Rockets did the right thing.
