Is it true that Marc Jackson has been waived?

Would it be worth it to waive Collier and sign Jackson to the minimum since he is already getting paid? He had a fine rookie year and it got real ugly with the Warriors because of how they did him when he wanted to come here.

He is a viable backup, especially if you are talking 3rd string behind Cato and Ming (in no particular order). A valuable 6 fouls againt LAL. whaddyathink?

Where did you hear that he was waived? If he can be had for cheap, I would prefer him over Collier.

We have no use for Jackson now. Why would he come here so he can get 5 garbage mins a game behind Ming and Cato?

I'd love it if we could get him at the minimum and would prefer him to Collier. But I agree that garbage minutes don't seem to work out too well for him. In his rookie campaign he got tons of minutes due to injuries and he produced. He's been a bust off the bench, though. Even so, an upgrade from Collier.

It might be nice to be 3-deep going agaisnt the wild West.

Shut It would be nice to have security in case one of the big men fall with injury, like Cato is Apt to doing.

But you never know, Rudy and Co. may not even be interested

There is absolutely nothing on any of the Twin Cities web sites about this. I would find it extremely hard to believe that the Wolves would waive an asset without even exploring the possibility of a trade. In addition, teams do not receive salary cap relief when they waive players.

    I can't find confirmation either. That's what I get for reading Hoopsworld.com.

If this is untrue, I apologize.

It is definitely untrue. He meant that Mark Jackson is apparently going to be wiaved by Denver, but who knows if that is true or not.

I agree. At least we can use his 6 fouls on Shaq.

RocketForever, I think you may mean 6 fouls, but Im glad someone agrees with me, He would be a heck of a 3rd string Center!

Even without him we have a deep well-rounded team that IMO can go against any team the league has to offer.....but if you added him you add some serious depth to a postion that is still unproven and imo since its unproven it should be be considered weak.

I'd have to agree with sofine... If we do sign Marc Jackson, he would be the most proven center out of Collier, Cato, and Yao Ming. I frankly doubt the Rockets have a shot in hell to get Rashard Lewis. This gives the Rockets a good way to spend their exception (as long as there's no wink-wink deal about signing Jackson long-term). However, if Jackson is indeed waived, he would probably garner a lot of attention from various GMs. This could be a situation where someone needs to overspend to acquire his services. Still, as long as he can be signed with the exception, I'll have no qualms in signing him.

I have hypotheticial question, which would you want? Cato or Marc J?

Perhaps Marc J, has more heart than Cato, but I do agree that Cato is sooo needed this yr.

I was just wondering what you guys thought since the subject of Marc Jackson has been brought up
