Just got home from the gym, and there were some neighbor kids playing flag football in the yard across the street (first sign ). One kid runs the ball back for nearly a touchdown, and another kid pulls his flag. I look over and the kid that pulled the flag is celebrating. Dancing around like a Nancy boy.

I turn my back to walk in the house, shaking my head, and I here, "NO! I have to make up my OWN dance moves!"

    Ugh.....

I'm not even 30 and I feel old...

I'm confused. The kid was angry that someone was showing him how to dance?

Also, are you trying to talk down on him for dancing? He can dance if he wants to. He can leave you behind. Cause you don't dance and if you don't dance, well, you're no friend of mine.

I think he feels old because they are playing flag football (not tackle like the old sandlot days). To add insult to injury they were celebrating a pulled flag instead of a touchdown. Finally the whippersnapper had the gumption to complain about not having his own signature dance, when back in the day the only dance they had was the funky chicken, and everyone was just happy to have that.

    Get off my lawn!

I think we called it two hand touch in my day. Lot's of arguments if someone got touched or not, lol. Probably played that right up until middle school and then we moved to tackle about 8th grade. Whenever we were short a player we would let one of the little kids play with us and they would get creamed, cry, and go home ending the game. Good times! Pretty sure I had a few end zone dances and football spikes.

The older you get the more of your face you have to shave. If I make it to 80, I'll be a wolf-man.

I now have hair in places I never knew I could grow hair before: ears and nostrils specifically.

Also, your metabolism will go straight to **** the day you turn 40, regular exercise becomes that much more important.

Age 40 for me really was that stereotypical "Now Your Body Gets Worse" mark.

No "its all mental", no "age is a just a number" here. Nope : Measurable physical regression all around just cuz 40. 5 times more grey hairs, metabolism slowdown, joint pains, needing "more rest", worse eyesight, crappier memory.

I understand youth culture now (I think "generation x" is MUCH hipper that way than previous generations) But cant act like i blend RIGHT in with it. Plus it becomes painfully obvious THEY don't want your old ass around them anyway, so feelings are kinda mutual that way its i want my rest and dont even want to chase your asses around anyway lol
