Nope. I didn't say that. I said you don't know anyone, much less someone in the NBA with those qualifications. Now you're just being silly.
I have Mexican friends with Spanish ancestry. I will ask them their blood type and get back to you, SwoLy-D. If it is above 75%, I consider myself right.
Again, this will be possible, but not in current NBA players that you mentioned, or "Mexicans" that play basketball in the United States.
OK, so because there isn't a 100% Mexican blood player in the NBA, that means Mexicans suck at basketball? That seems more than a little racist. Maybe Mexicans are focusing on soccer or jai alai.
No they're not. People from Spain are EUROPEANS! People from Latin Americas are HISPANICS! You're basically saying British are AMERICANS!
People from Latin America are Latinos, but not necessarily Hispanics. Latino refers to geography Hispanic refers to language And yes, Spaniards are Hispanic. Brazilians are not, but they are Latinos.
You're right, my bad. But, Latino doesn't refer to geography alone. The same can be said about Hispanics. Hispanic is a term that originally denoted a relationship to ancient Hispania (Iberian Peninsula). Now it relates to the contemporary nation of Spain, its history and culture; a native of Spain residing in the United States is a Hispanic. Latino refers more exclusively to persons or communities of Latin American origin. The U.S. Census Bureau defines Hispanic or Latino to refer to "a person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race.", and states that Hispanics or Latinos can be of any race, any ancestry, any ethnicity. Generically, this limits the definition of Hispanic or Latino to people from the Caribbean, Central and South America, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race, distinctly excluding all persons of Portuguese origin.
Don't forget, this whole thread got derailed because Mr. Clutch cited SPANISH and Argentinean players incorrectly as Mexicans. That was all. Yes, shastarocket, Jorge Gutierrez counts as a Hispanic who is Mexican who can beat you at basketball.
Spaniards are European AND Hispanic. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. And Chandler Parsons is an honorary Mexican, IMHO.
and according to the definitions that most people go by, that is a correct statement. Swoly, you realize I understand spanish don't you? That post on the other page, don't do it again. I know it doesnt mean anything about him being your friend. Regardless of what the internet is tryin to say. This thread blew chunks when it first appeared, it still blows chunks now. Can you guys please let it die? trust me, Luckkky aint gonna answer any of yall.(not under that name anyway)
