JL3 Reed Novak or Butler - who cares.....15th men make no difference to me. Should have kept Harris. DD
I just heard on the radio…Sura, Lucas, Novak..have been released..Snyder is involved in some kind of trade! Rockets should’ve kept Snyder...I hope it’s for a pick but I think it’s gonna be cash…
Well there goes my bet of Sura, Lucas, Snyder and Reed. Subbed Reed for Novak? I guess when it comes down to the 15th player money plays a part.
Well, if true, you have to remember Reed is Morey's guy. He was part of the Celtics' organization who brought Reed in and fought to get him included in the James' trade. Again if true, all four guys are part of the last 'regime'.
I'd rather keep Snyder and get rid of Reed. Snyder got tons of atleticism and he crashes the boards well. It'll be his fourth team in four seasons. The trade has to be for a future pick or cash because we already have too many players.
If it's true, then I'm surprised they would let Novak go, but looks like they had no chance. The kid can only play one side of the court. I believe Reed is a small forward/power forward long body type that Adelman probably wanted.
Just love how this poster says he heard something on the radio, gave no clarification or details (ie: radio station, etc) and then dissapears. I've been out driving around for three hours listening to SportsRadio 610 and have not heard one mention of the Rockets making cuts, not to mention that Morey (on a number of occasions) stated that any cuts would come on Monday, not today. Thanks for the info Mr. 6 Posts
If the 15th man makes no difference, and assuming that the team cannot get under the luxury tax threshhold, then the Rockets should cut: JLIII Novak Butler or Reed Butler will cost the Rockets approximately $4.6M this year if he is cut. Reed will cost the Rockets approximately $3M this year and ANOTHER $3M next season. Compare those figures with what it would cost to cut Novak or JLIII, which in either case is about $1M to 1.5M. If the Rockets keep Reed and later package him in a trade, the team can get off the hook for his 2008-09 salary. If they cut him, they lose that opportunity.
Yea, it could be right on the money. But, unless he gives more details, I'm finding it very hard to believe he heard anything.
There is no way that Daryl Morey waives players with guaranteed deals prior to Monday. That would be stupid and would limit his trade options over the weekend. The only possible scenario would be to do a favor for the guys and give them an opportunity to catch on with another team before the weekend. I'm calling BS. No offense, Rocket Man 2.0. If you honestly think you heard the report, then the report is probably BS.
I'm not doubting you... just looking for an answer to the question posed earlier: What radio station?
